Stitchers Inc

...a cross stitch & needlepoint shop for all seasons

welcome

what's new

February 8, 2010 - And winter has come again!  We have about 5" of snow - Yikes! This is a lot of snow for us - but 9 of the 17 salt trucks are out!  Maybe the rest will get out before the storm is over!  Shop opening will be iffy today - if you are planning on coming, please call before you try to make the trip - only to find us closed!
I got an email from Carol - Associated Talents - yesterday!  She is shipping our order this week.  I can't wait - I ordered some initial ornaments and the cutest "little" carrots!  We will have to see what else when the box arrives - it is always like opening packages at Christmas!  Lots of surprises and beautiful things!
Billie has finished Merry Christmas from the Blackbird Book - Joyeax Noel.  It is Fabulous!  She made a few changes - love it!  Also from Blackbird - Loose Feathers #39.  We have sold our initial order and have re- ordered!  And the fabric is in stock as well.  Blackbird has a new book and some new charts coming in Nashville - If I remember correctly - it is called "Honeysuckle Cottage"  If you want one for sure, let me know.
Also, Carriage House has a new Hawk Hollow chart - let me know if you need that chart or the fabric and what count you want.
Well, time to go scoop snow off the front porch and walk and decide if it is worth the trip to go try and open the shop.

January 29.2010 - Well, winter has come to Memphis!  We have rain, sleet, ice and snow - and lots of inexperienced drivers on the road!  I went in for a little while this am - picked up some things that needed to be taken care of and put a sign on the door and a message on the answering machine.  Now I have to remember to change it tomorrow!
Terri has finished the Love Notes sampler from Plum Street Sampler - it is a great sampler and there is still time to stitch it before Valentine's Day!  She, of course, changed the fabric and some of the threads - from 40 ct to 28 ct!  We also have another Plum Street Sampler for Valentine's Day - Beloved.  You can see both of them on the www.hoffmandis.com  We have sold out, but have an order coming - should have come today but...
So, if you are snowed in like we are - even if you are not - fix a nice cup of tea and sit down and stitch.

January 22, 2010 - Just a few things to offer today.  First - Good Huswife is coming out with a new book at Nashville market - if you want one let me know before I go.  She will have limited quantites of all 4 of her books.  She is getting married and moving to Europe, so this may be the last opportunity to get one of her books.
The new Lizzie Kate came in - you can see it on her website!  Great new designs - love the "Green' Flip its - especially the "Be kind to animals.  The first 3 of the six designs has been released with the other 3 to follow shortly.  She has an Easter Quick it and a new "Boxer"  - "We're not gossiping we're net working"   Also she has a new design - kind of like the alphabet series - Cat Lessons for People.  Hopefully there will be one about dogs soon!
From Just NaN we have the WinterHearts kit.  Very cute design and we only have 2 left( opps just sold 1 so now we only have 1) and I believe that they are sold out, so when these are gone...  Love the Snowflake Pin!
From Little House Needleworks - the newest ornament "He's a Flake" and Battle Hymn of the Republic and 2 other new ones.  Be sure and check her website for pics.  They shipped on Friday and we should have them on Tuesday!
Also coming on Tuesday are the Blackbird Design Nov and Dec stockings.  (We get them from Norden with the fabric, so it sometimes takes a little longer, but then we have the fabric!)  Barb and Alma have some new things planned for Nashville Market!  Cant wait for it!

January 14, 2010 - OK - We survived the market!  And bought a lot and saw a lot and took some classes.  This is an order market, so things (mostly canvases) will be coming in over the next couple of months.  Some will come quickly and others take a little time.  We have signed up for Kelly Clark's Patterned Pears - they are great!  Kelly let me take some pictures of them - in her creative booth - complete with a window and shelves!  I helped with the booth - all I did was put canvases on the the wall!  I can take no credit for the design - altho I did a great job cutting the fabric for the walls!  It did require cutting on the floor - cut one, get up fold it, get back down, cut it, get up...  My body protested on Sat!
But, the bottom line is - there was lots to see and order and think about. In fact, I ran out of time and still have a few orders to place.  As the canvases come in, I will let you know.

January 3, 2010 - Hope you all had a Happy New Year.  We had a very quiet holiday - asleep by 10!  Yes, 10.  Billie and Linda don't think I can stay up that late, but I managed.  Inventory is all done - I think.  There are always a few strays to round up, but we ususally find them.  We also found a few little gems in the corners and I will mention those at a later date.
I am off to Long Beach on Thursday for TNNA market.  Lots to look at and buy!  It always gets me going to go to market and see new products, designs and old friends.
And speaking of old friends, Stitchers lost 2 very dear friends the end of December.  Donna lost her long battle with cancer.  We will miss her and her smiling face!  Ginne died suddenly of a heart attack the day after Christmas.  We will miss her and her spirit.  Our thoughts and prayers are with both of their families.  With tears and a heavy heart, I say good night.  I will be back with an update after market.

December 24, 2009 - Almost the end of the year - Just a reminder that our Year End Clearance Sale has started!  And we do not want to count all this stuff!  Help us out!  The sale goes until the 30th of December - so we can count and enjoy New Year's Eve.
All of us wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.  We wish you all the best in 2010 and hope to see you in the new year if not before.  Please say a prayer for all the military personel where ever they are stationed.

November 26, 2009 - One more update in November.  Billie has given me a lot to put in - I did not realize how much has come in this month!  Don't forget - We have Gift Certificates - they are alway available - but are great for the Holidays and they don't expire or start to go down in value if you don't use them right away.  We also have some nice scissors and fobs and threaders that go nicely with a gift certificate.
Now on the the new things - and remember you can always see the new cross stitch on www.hoffmandis.com and www.nordencrafts.com .
The new Issue of Needlepoint Now if in - it features a great design from Raymond Crawford.  And speaking of magazines - we are down to one copy of the Just Cross Stitch Halloween issue and I can't get anymore of those, we also have one issue of the Just Cross Stitch ornament magazine left and I have ordered more.
From Liberty Hill - a First Colony Tombstone Cupboard.  A great wooden box for your scissors and threads.  There were only 300 of these left and we only have 2 left.  These are definitely "Halloween", but if you want one - now is the time to act!
We have the last of the Over the Top Tins from Just Nan - Glow.  We also have one left of the Noella's Christmas Berry Bird and the Christmas Cheer Charts.  We also have one left of Counting Bats, Sirens of the Sea and Harmony.
Little House and Country Cottage Needleworks have been very busy - The Library, Sailing, Sailing, Yesteryear, Winter Greens, Joy, Hark the Herald Angels Sing, Sugar Plum Fairy, Garden of Snow and the new Fa La La.
Hinzeit has released Charmed Believe, Charmed Dear Santa, Welcome Home and we still have Jingle Bells.
Puffin & Company has sent out Magnetic Needle Nannies - Sheep, Heart, and Cat.  These are great to put with a gift certificate for the holidays.  Another great thing to put with a gift certificate is a Stitchers Acorn - has a thimble, spool inside an acorn.  And don't forget the threaders from Zecca.
New from Lizzie Kate - Time for God has come and gone, so we have reordered and they should be in this week.  Also she released Dogs Leave Paw Prints, Live Simply and the newest Boxer - Today was a total waste of Makeup!
Blue Ribbon Designs - I Love their designs!  Winter White Woodland, Just Add Tinsel - a 3D box much like the Halloween Coffin she did earlier and Autumn Leaves and Sunflower Seeds,
Cricket Collection has released the All Through the House - outstanding design and Berry Nice Indeed.
From a new designer -Silver Creek Sampler - Eye on the Sparrow.  And from Hawkins House - Apple Tree Sampler.
Bent Creek has released the Uber Turkey and the Uber Christmas Tree.  These are such fun designs and stitched on large count fabric - altho you could do them on smaller count fabric and use floss instead of the #5 perle cotton.
Imaginating has released a Nativity Trio - great design.  And Drawn Thread has A House in the Country and another one that is a Santa that is a limited edition design.  Sorry it has not come in and Billie did not put it on my list and I don't remember the exact name of it, but it has shipped.
We also have some new charts from Stoney Creek - Christmas Delights, Cozy Cats, and Hanging Around for Christmas.  Stoney Creek has some of the best Christmas designs.
The Good Huswife - it is wonderful that she is designing again- has released PA Christmas.  And there is the Bee Noel from Arachne's Silken Web - this chart has my sisiter's name on it.  I may finish it before christmas 2010.  I did not realize how big it was when I ordered it.
Another design that has been popular is from JBW - French Country Noel Wreath and French Country Snow Globe.
I think that is all for now - there is a turkey calling my name!  HOpe you all have a great Thanksgiving and enjoy the day.  Please take time to stitch and think of all your blessings.

November 7, 2009 - A few new things have come in and all the wonderful finished stockings and ornaments are coming in.  They all look wonderful!
The 3 part of the Christmas design from Raise the Roof (Sorry I can't remember the name of it!)  has come in.  Only one part left to come and then you can get it stitched in time for Christmas!  These little kits come with the design and Crescent Color threads to stitch them.  It is a wonderful little Christmas Village.  Also coming soon from Little House Needleworks and Crescent Colors are little ornaments.  The first in the series should be available mid- November.  Another winner from Diane and Sharon.
Also this week, we got a few more canvases from Melissa Shirley.  There is a great Gingerbread men and candy canes canvas that would be a great stocking cuff or you could square it off and make it a Holiday pillow.  Also a fabulous bucket with  Red Star Gazer Lilies and Candycanes and a small bird.  Very beautiful!  And a fabulous spring pillow design - a white rabbit and yellow chick on a yellow design.
We also got some wire threaders from Zecca with the wonderful and wild embellishments and some new belts from Zecca - I love all of them - they are very different!
And Linda got back her pair of mermaid sandals from Birds of a Feather!  They are so very cute!  She will probably be wearing them all winter.  Just looking at them makes you think of the beach!
Time to get going...

October 14, 2009 - Billie has reminded me I need to put up more information from St Charles market - so here goes!  The new series from Crescent Colors has come in - it is a Christmas piece from Raise the Roof .  It comes in 4 parts and they have released the first 2.  It is really a great Christmas village.
From Birds of a Feather - a great Nativity Stocking based on the nativity pillow that Billie finished stitching.  It is primitive and very cute!  We also picked up the Bird Sampler pillow top.
Jean Smith had some great florals - they are very pretty colors with a watercolor feel.  Just the thing to stitch in this rainy gloomy weather.
Melissa Shirley - great designs as always!  We picked up the small rooster and hen designs, a couple of star angels (we have had these in the past and they are still great designs)  We also picked up 2 new stockings - they are kind of funky but fun!  A santa and one with a snowman.  These would be so much fun to stitch.
Shepherd's Bush - as always some really great designs.  We got the Holy Night sampler and waiting for the box.  We went on Sat afternoon and were too late - they were sold out of the box but they are busy making more and should be here any day now.
Erica Michaels - what beautiful designs Linda had this time.  I love these little designs on 40 count gauze.  They are also great on 28 ct linen over 2 threads.  She also had a fob that is stitched on 30 ct gauze if you want to give that a try.
Mosey and Me - Frank and Judy always come up with the best designs.  And this time was no exception - she had lovely Celtic love sampler, a Halloween chart and a Friendship chart to honor Kris from Norden Crafts.
And Plum Street Sampler - these were some great designs!  Paradise Lost - Adam and Eve - beautiful and the Garden of Eerie.  We had sold out of the Garden and re-ordered.
OK - this all the typing I can do (there was a reason I got a C in personal typing in high school!)  I will try to finish the list in the next couple of days!

September 30, 2009 - Wow september is almost gone - and we survived the St. Charles market!  Billie and I went and shopped and priced and shopped and stayed up too late, but we came back with some fabulous things!  Billie made a list on the way home, the list is four pages long and is just the highlights!  Great stuff!  I will get started and finish it later in the week.
I will start with Kelmscott - we picked up the new fish thread winders, Adam and Eve needle minders, and from Plum Street Samplers Paradise Lost!  Outstanding!  But then we only saw and bought outstanding and fabulous designs!  The pile of stuff is overwhelming.
And a new angel ornament and signed up for a monthly kit. It starts with an angel thread pallet.
From Images Stitchery, we found some great new wooden bell pulls - including a tombstone one that is great for the Lizzie Kate Boo Club, and personalized wooden magnets.
Of course, new threads from Weeks Dye Works, Sampler Threads, Crescent Colors.  The new Belle soie colors are great.  crescent also has a new monthly from Shakespeares Peddler that we signed up for - the first one will ship soon.
We went into Colonial Needle - the brand new owners of Lee Needlearts.  Hurrah!  It would have been sad to see that line go away.  And by January, they should be up and running with the whole line.
We stopped at Leigh Designs - we took Renee's pumpkin face pillow and Sandra's three framed masks for Leigh to have as models at the market.  I think Leigh was disappointed when Billie and I showed up on Sunday afternoon to reclaim them!  Fabulous.  They are in the shop for a few days if you want to see them.
Namaste - we re-stocked the buddy cases - these are great little leather boxes for your scissors, needles, threaders etc and in great colors!
Blackbird Designs - we picked up the new book - Joyeax Noel/Merry Christmas.    They had all the mini socks stitched and hanging from the fireplace mantel!  Billie and I just stood in awe and of course, the pictures do not do them justice!  Makes you want to stop what you are doing and stitch them all, but you also want to do the Christmas and the Halloween and ...  Way too little stitching time !
OK - that is all the typing my fingers can handle for the moment.  I will get back to this later!

September 2, 2009 - Just  a note - we will be closed on Sunday Sept 6 and Monday Sept 7 for Labor Day.  Wishing you rest from your labors and lots of stitching to be done.  The finishing deadlines will be here before you know it!
Not much new in needlepoint - waiting for market the end of September.  But lots to report on the cross stitch front.  The Just Nan  and the Blackbird designs have come in - they are both fabulous!  Love the Witch's Hat from Just Nan.  And Counting Bats has the cutest beads - some more mature eyes may need magnification to see the detail!  And the Blackbird Designs Book is great - love all the designs - but that pumpkin pin cushion keeps calling to me!
New Cricket Collection has come in - love all the new designs - the Open House is companion to a previous Halloween House- they would make a great pair - a little Halloween village!  The Great Pumpkin Conspiracy - love all the bats and then Star Acorn and Autumn Apron.  You can see all of her designs on her website.
We have ordered the First Colony Tombstone Cupboard from Liberty Hill.  It is a small box shaped like a tombstone and includes sewing smalls.  You "need" to add a pair of black scissors to this - the scissor fob is wonderful.  This should come in early September or early October - Carolyn is busy painting!
New Blue Ribbon Designs - Afraid of the Dark and Sampling in the Square.  Both are great designs and you can use parts to make smalls!  Also Black Cats and Flying Bats.  She also has all of her new designs up on her website.
Don't for get the Just Cross Stitch Halloween Ornament Magazine - we have a few copies left - and the upcoming Christmas Ornament Magazine - that is due out in September - so should be coming any day.  Again  get on the list for this if you need it - we only have 40 copies on order!

August  21, 2009 - Just a quick reminder - the Halloween ornament issue from Just Cross Stitch and better than ever!  The Christmas ornament magazine will be coming in September - are you on the list?  If not, why not?  You can call and let us know - 901-681-9276.

August 16, 2009 - This is a quick update!  Billie and I are trying to clean out the back room - really we are! - and are finding lots of treasures.  I am not sure how those things end up there, but there they are.  One think that I know we found is one of Just Nan's Queen's Bluebird kit.  It is really very wonderful - and these are definitely gone!  There are some other things and I know we will find them.  I will post them as they come to light.  If you ever saw the back room, you would not question how things get lost back there!

August 9, 2009 - The New Prairie Schooler charts have shipped - should be in this week.  We are getting all the charts and the 2009 Santa - v ery cute with ice skates, a hockey stick and puck.  The other designs are great - I love the Santa in the sleigh.  You can check them out on the Prairie Schooler website - www.prairieschooler.com  If you need any of these designs, just let us know.

August 7, 2009 - for a time of the year when not much is supposed to be happening!  The Just Cross Magazine that is the Halloween issue, came in today!  Fabulous!  I love the design from La D Dah - especially if you did the one from last year and have started on the boot (Something Wicked this way comes!)  It is a perfect companion.  And the Prairie Moon stocking ornament and the AB Designs (Have you seem Witchy Poo?) and the Just Nan (Have you seen the Counting Bats design - it is up on her website - due to be released later in Aug?)  And I have not even really had a chance to look at it!  If you want an issue, let me know! NOW!

August 6, 2009 - We got a great big box of prework needlepoint today!  Hurrah!  We even have a few bunnies!  But not many - if you want one... I don't know when or if I will be able to get any more - this has been about a 2 year process!  We also got in today, more of the craftlite magnifier/lamp units.  They really are great.  They have a small magnifier and an LED light.  And you have to have something to clip it on,  it won't replace a big light/magnifier, but it works well for travel!
Time to get some dinner on the table.

August 5, 2009 - Guessed I missed a second posting in July!  There are some great new releases coming in August (or at least there should be!)  Blackbird Designs is doing a book of 13 Halloween mini stockings (similar to the monthly ones they have been doing) , if I remember correctly, they should ship the middle of August - although I don't think Alma has finished the photography for the book.  It will be worth the wait!  We have the book and fabric on order, so if you want one I suggest you speak up now.  Not sure how long these will last.
Prairie Schooler should release the new 2009 Santa in August - hopefully soon.  Just Nan has a new Halloween tin coming and there is also a chart - Counting Bats.  You can see them on her web site www.justnan.com they should ship the end of August.
And don't forget Just Cross Stitch  Ornament magazine - that should ship in Sept.  If you want us to hold one, let us know - There is also another Just Cross Stitch Halloween issue coming and that should be here before the Ornament magazine.  We have a list for both.  Hope you can keep track of all this.  The bottom line is, if you think you want any of these, you need to let us know!  you can call 901-681+9276 or email at stitchersinc@bellsouth.net
There is also all the normal stuff coming in, although a lot of new stuff will not be released until the St Charles market the end of September.  I really will try to do a better job of doing updates.  Need to have Billie do a list  for me.  You can always check Hoffman, Norden Crafts and Wichelt for what they have that is new.

July 13, 2009 - Wow time flies when you are having fun!  Last week seemed to fly by and we were very busy!  Making up for being closed on the 4th, I guess.
On the cross stitch front we got a few new things in - Homespun Elegance has come out with a _Witches Stitch Too - it is very cute and stitched on 30 ct straw (you could also do it on 14 ct desert cream aida) and with a star brass button.   We have re-stocked on Witch Shoes shall I wear - from Cherry Wood, andWitchy Poo from ABdesigns - also very cute, Amy has such a wonderful view of the world.
We got our order from Little Shoppe Canvas - 3D canvases!  12 Days of Christmas shaped like pears (with stitch guide), apples, pears, strawberries, shells, and a fabulous pumpkin!  They are so cute finished!  I started the green apple last night ( it has a great stitch guide!)  I am changing a few threads, but it is fabulous!
Princess and Me ornaments came in - these also come with a stitch guide!  I love the grilling santa and the cookie queen.
That is all I have time for this morning, when I get to the shop I will organize what else I need to tell you about and post later.
That is it for now.

June 30, 2009 - Managed to get one more update in for June!  Actually not much to add, but could not resist the opportunity to update 4 times in one month!  We did the last shipment of canvases from Lee Designs yesterday.  Got a nice selection of crosses and a couple of the tiny Kimonos.  And a beautiful angel stocking.  Hopefully they have found someone to buy the line and keep it going!

June 19, 2009 - Wow 3 times in June and it is not the end of the month yet!  Lizzie Kate automatic came in today!  Fabulous - you can see it on her website -  www.lizziekate.com - the new series of double flip its spells Merry Christmas - she has released the first 2 - Merry - also so a Snippet - Stitching forever -Housework Whenever!  And a new design - Quick it - Sampling Halloween.  And a new giggle box - If you want breakfast in bed - sleep in the kitchen.  These are great and fun!

June 17, 2009 - Back from market!  I need to rest!  I helped Kelly Clark this market.  Went in on Friday and helped her set up - you don't realize how many designs she has until you start putting each and every one of them up on the wall.  That took most of Friday.  Then I went to Sample It!  What a madhouse!  I got the new Weeks Dye Works and Gentle Arts threads,  some Associated Talents canvases, and some notions.  It was exciting to see all the vendors being over run by retailers with cash!
On Saturday, Sunday and Monday morning, I helped Kelly with her booth - taking orders.  I expect a phone call any minute - what do you mean by this or we can't read your writing!  And then I shopped and ordered and ordered and shopped in the afternoons.  And then it was over and I helped Kelly take down the booth and sent her home to Shaker Heights.  We visited and ate and explored the market.  I would find something and send her to go look at it.  It was fun to see the market from a different perspective.  She has lots of wonderful ideas and things planned - all she needs is time to do them!
Of course, all the time we were at market, I was nervous about the weather here in Memphis.  Do we have power?  Has everything in the refrigerator spoiled?  But we came home to power and no downed trees in our yard!  It was wonderful!
Mill Hill  has new Jim Shore Santas coming later this summer - they are fabulous.  They make great companions to his snowmen from last year.
Lizzie Kate ships today - will let you know when it comes in.  Looking at her website, it looks fabulous - can't wait.
Gotta get going - there is laundry to do - but no refrigerator to clean out!

June 6, 2009 - Just a quick update - the new Mill Hill kits for Christmas have c ome in.  You can see them on the website.  There are 2 new designs for the Christmas Village - Firehouse and Snowday.  I "think" that makes 16 choices for your Christmas Village!  All you need is wall space or do them for a tabletop.  So, hurry up and finish that Halloween so you can get started on the Christmas. Love them all!

May 30. 2009 - For those keeping track - this is update number 4!  Just a little note to remind you that Lizzie Kate has an automatic coming in mid-June.  The third in the Giggle box series - If you want breakfast in bed, A new snippet - Stitching forever, Housework whenever, A new Quick it- Random Halloween, and the first of a new set of Christmas Double Flip-its!  The giggle box series has been very popular!
I go to the TNNA  Summer Market on June 11 and back on the 16th.  Lots of looking, thinking, planning and ordering to happen.  This is an order market, so won't be bringing much home with me, but it will trickle in.  Customers are coming in, so I guess I better get going.

May 25, 2009 - Three times in one month! This must be a record!  Just a few things - not much is coming in right now - waiting for Columbus market.  I have ordered the Just Nan mermaid design - Sirens of the Sea!  It is great - and should come mid-June.  We have the fabric, now all we need is the silk and the chart! The chart includes a beautiful scallop charm!  Can't wait to see it!
Got 2 new charts from abDesigns - Boo and Eek!  It is never too early to start Halloween.  You can see the charts on Hoffman - www.hoffmandis.com - they are lots of fun.
And the Needlecrafters Travel Companion has come in - it is a great Travel guide of needlework shops across America!
Time to get the burgers on the grill - have a great Memorial Day and please include our service men who are in harm's way in your prayers.

May 8, 2009 - Hoorah!  Billie has finished the Boo Club!  It is fabulous!  And of course, we sold out of the charts and the fabric almost immediately!  But I am re-ordering!  If you need inspiration to finish yours - come see Billie's!  I will let it hang in the shop for a few weeks before I frame it,  so come see it!  We got in a few of the older Blackbird and Birds of a Feather designs in on  Wednesday.  If  you are interested in the Birds of a Feather charts, the ones that are still available are on www.hoffmandis.com  , take a look and if you see any you would like, just let me know and I will be happy to order them for you.
Gotta go - just had to let you know Billie had finished the Boo Club!

May 6. 2009 - well, I did not make 3 posting in April. Maybe in May!  I went to Dallas Market the end of April and brought back some outstanding canvases!  I found 4 pillow tops from Dede that we have not had for a few years - red geranium, star gazer lilies, petunias and fuschias.  These are all stunning!
And of course, I found lots of little things - both Halloween and Christmas.  I found 2 nutcracker stocking that are on the smaller side! The smaller ones are hard to find.  If you are the one doing the filling - smaller is better! Large oranges are great. Call or come see what the new things are.
New designs from Little House Needleworks - Alphabet Nursery Rhyme and a Bee design. ( I am at home and don't have the exact titles) but you can see them on her website.
Billie has almost finished the Boo Club from Lizzie Kate - it is cuter everytime I see it.  Linda is shipping the next auto in May (after her daughter's wedding)  Another in the Giggle box and new Christmas Double Flip-its.  Those are scheduled to ship about the 15th - but could be later due to wedding exhaustion!
Time to go - call. come in or email (stitchersinc@bellsouth.com) if you have questions.

April 20, 2009 - If I work at it, I could get 3 postings in this month!
One of our customers finished the Lizzie Kate Double flips - Christmas - and it is framed and hanging in the shop!  It is so cute!  If you have the charts and need some motivation!
And if you are not quite ready for Christmas, surely you are ready to start thinking of fall and Halloween!  Just got some new kits from Mill Hill ( www.millhill.com ) 6 Button and Bead Kits - 2 designs are fallish, 2 are Halloween and 2 are Kitchen - how's that for a mix? I love them all - Opera House (really very spooky!) and Balsamic Vinegar.
Also from Mill Hill are 6 Treasured Diamonds and 6 magnet/ornament/pin kits.  All of these have a fall/Halloween theme.  I love Mr. Bones, Trick or Treat, Boo and Spooky.  Come in and check these out!
Going to Dallas Market this weekend - it is a cash and carry mostly needlepoint market.  Should be fun!

April 3, 2009 - Just 2 quick notes -
New LizzieKate - the rest of the Boo Club, Giggle box and boy's - you can see them on her website - www.lizziekate.com and a heads up from Prairie Schooler - This have discontinued Santas and Snowmen (which we are sold out of!) and Number 140 - Pumpkin Patch - we have 2 left.  Let me know if you want them.

March 21, 2009 - Billie gave me a list of things to put up!  Looking at the list, you can see that it has been a while since I posted anything!  So here goes!
Raymond Crawford - Larry the Turkey - this is a great canvas and comes with a stitch guide!  He is so cute for Thanksgiving.  You could finish as a standup, a pillow insert, or an ornament!  He is on Raymond's website.
New from Just Nan - last month was the biscornu and this month is Harmony - it is a seasonal piece and comes with the silk and the beads.
Mill Hill has done some new releases - Jim Shore Snowman Kits , there are 4. and Mill Hill has the Wildlife set - a set of 6 animals - great for a kids room.  We did a model with 3 (frog, lion and elephant) and put them all in a fun purple frame.  You can see these on the Mill Hill website.
Terri stitched Tis the Season to go with Peggy's A Very Merry Christmas. And Terri also stitched Lizzie Kate's new limited edition kit - Easter Chicky!  Very Cute.
Billie also said to tell you that Weeks Dye Works has discontinued some colors and we have them at 1/2 price.  Check your patterns - because when these are gone - that is it!
Billie has also been working on the Boo Club from Lizzie Kate -she has the first 6 designs done and is waiting for the next 6!  They should ship the first of April and then Billie will be off to the races!  Linda also has a new Giggle Box coming with the next automatic.
Got the rest of the order from Alice Peterson in - 2 great new stockings - I love the nutcracker! and some pillow tops and ornaments. There is an orange bulb ornament - great for the UT fans - stitched in a flat and metallic orange !
Got some new purse canvases from Red Thread - giraffe with pink, zebra, magnolia, and turquoise with a white bow.  Also got the blue jeans purse in again with a stitch guide.
From Winnetka Stitchery - a set of nativity ornaments - they are stunning!
Opps - customers are coming in - I will finish this over the weekend!

February 28, 2009 - Just a few new things this week -From Prairie Schooler - 4 new designs.  I love the Welcome Spring - with the barnyard animals - Hen, rabbit, ducks, sheep and of course, a pig!  You can see all 4 designs on www.prairieschooler.com or Norden Crafts or Hoffman Distributing.  Also the new chart from Just Nan -  Floral Fifteen - a 15 sided Biscornu.  It is great - as are all of the Just Nan designs.  It is stitched on 2 different fabrics - a Mint Green and Antique White.
Billie is on the last of the first 6 designs for the Boo Club.  She will leave it in the shop until the next 6 designs come in April.  If you do Halloween you need this one.
The weather here is looking ugly - cold, raining and snow is possible.  Wish there was a fireplace here in the shop where I could sit and stitch.  Guess I will just have to make a cup of tea and pretend!

February 17, 2009 - WOW Nashville market was awesome - got lots of goodies!  Some have sold out and been re-ordered!  I think it was a great market and hope you will  too.  So here goes.
Little House Needleworks - a great new kit - Traveling Stitcher - with a finished kit to go with.  All you have to do is add fabric, stitch and attach to the pre-finished items.  This is a great piece - and the finishing kit is sold out!  Hoffman sold out of them before at the "Meet and Greet" on Friday night.  So if you want one, now is the time to get it!
Lizzie Kate had some new little limited edition spring kits.  I think they sold out of those at market as well.  We still have the Easter Chicky kit.  Billie is working on the Double Flip It Boo Club.  It is looking great.  She has 3.75 designs stitched.  She has to finish 6 before the next (and last) group comes out in April!
Sue Hillis designs -  Sue has some great little pirate designs - these are not so very new, but worth mentioning.  My favorite is the "Don't mistake endurance for hospitality"  with the cutest pineapple design - it looks so elegant until you read it.
And there are many more things - too numerous to mention.  If you are looking for anything in particular, just send me an email or give me a call.
A few more needlepoint orders have come in - Raymond Crawford - great little Santa pillow, Kelly Clark -  great stocking cuffs - with heel and toe - and of course, she has lots of other great things, new threads from Rainbow Gallery - with a new rack for all the new threads.  Some great belts from Barbara Russell and Dede designs, new beginner kits and the list goes on.  Come in or give us a call and we will try to tell you all the great things.  Gotta go - customers are knocking on the door.

February 1, 2009 - My, but it has been awhile since I updated - so here we go!
Since I last posted, we have had a end of the year sale, survived Christmas and New Year's, and went to California for the TNNA needlepoint market.  And this coming weekend I am on my way to Nashville for the cross stitch market.  I printed off the list of vendors there - it is going to be a busy market!
We have gotten 2 needlepoint orders from market - it tends to take awhile - some really cute carrots from Associated Talents.  They have them on their website and they are great.  Also a few things from Shelly Tribbey - a couple of new mini skates and a pink poodle insert for the Stirling purse.  It is really cute and would also be a great pillow insert for a young (or young at heart!) girls room.  She also has her new stuff posted on her web site.
We have gotten another in the Sea to Shining Sea series from Little House Needleworks and Crescent Colors - they have some new things coming at the Nashville market.
And best of all, from Lizzie Kate - Her Double Flip it  to start this year - the Boo club.  Billie has started it and it is so Cute!  :You have to see it.  The pictures do not do it justice.  It is posted on her website.  The first 6 designs are available and the rest will come in April.  Let us know if you need them!
Time to go and hope to talk to you soon - at least sooner than the last time.

November 2, 2008 - It has been a busy fall - Halloween is over.  We only had 3 trick-or-treaters - but they were 3 of the cutest little girls ever.  Butterflies and princesses still live!
We got the new Lizzie Kate in - the last 2 double charts for this year's Holiday Flip its.  These are great charts - stitched one at a time or all together.  Linda has a free chart for the border.  Check them out on her website www.lizziekate.com .  Also in this week are the new Little House Needleworks and Country Cottage.  You can see them at www.hoffmandis.com or www.nordencrafts.com   If you haven't been at the Norden Crafts website lately, it has been completely re-done and looks great.  And now I can order on line - at least there is the possibility once I figure this out.
This is the first Sunday of the Month, so we will be open and all are welcome to get a break from the football games and come and sit and stitch.  This is not really super organized,  but do feel free to stop by with a project and sit for a while.
Time to get going.

October 14, 2008.  The Crescent Colors/LittleHouse Needleworks from Sea to Shining Sea has come in.  This is a 6 part series that is great!  Billie and I both loved it when we saw it in St Charles!  We have the first 2 of the series - the border and the West Coast house came in today.  There are 4 more houses to come - I think you can see them on the Little House website.
We have sold out of the Just Cross Stitch Ornament Magazine, but I have re-ordered.  It appears that the Halloween issue is gone - we have sold all of ours and re-ordered once.  I tried to re-order again, but they are backordered so I am not if or when we will get them!
New stuff is showing up all the time, so come in and check it all out.

September 17, 2008.  Billie and I made it back from the St Charles Market.  It was a great market and we found some great things!  But now market is complete without an adventure!  On the way up, we stopped for gas and then I made a wonderful 3 point landing in the parking lot!  By the time we got to the hotel, my knee was so stiff and sore that I could not walk!  fortunately the hotel had a wheelchair and Billie was able to push me around the market.
We got some great new designs from LaDDa (a witch's boot that is to die for!) Primitive Needle, Lizzie Kate, Just Nan, and Leigh Designs - and many more.  After we get everything priced and ready to go, I will sort it all out and update the website.  But you can check out www.hoffmandis.com and nordencrafts.com and lizziekate.com and justnan.com and so on.  Anything you see, just call or email us and we will be happy to help you.
The Just Cross Stitch ornament magazine came in on Monday.  We have called everyone who is on the list and have some left over.  If you need one, just let us know.  We will be able to order more if we sell all these.  Now to limp into the shop and see what else needs to be taken care of.  One last parting word - the pavement is NOT as soft as it looks!

September 3, 2008 - Once amonth is not a bad schedule is it - maybe it is better than every 2 months!  Billie and I are going to the St Charles market - leaving on the 13th I think - This is a new market and we shall see how it goes.  I think Billie and I are going to have to split up to cover the entire market!  This is a cash and carry market - so we shall bring lots of goodies home.  I should report when we get home.
New Lizzie Kate!  The 3rd and 4th in the Double Flip it series and other holiday goodies.  Check them out at her website!  This is a great series!  The 5th and 6th (and final) flip its should be out before the end of the year.  She will have some limited edition things at St. Charles.
Blackbird Designs - Loose Feathers has been released!  Love it - they are selling quickly.
We have sold out of the Just Cross Stitch Halloween issue - but more are on order.  Not sure how long they will be available, but will try to get one for you if you still need one!  Looking forward to the Just Cross Stitch Ornament issue - should come in mid-September (or any day!!!)  If you are not on the list, give me a call and we can add you.  I think we have about 10 that are not spoken for, but can still up the order or re-order if needed.
Gotta go - gotta check on when we are going to St Charles and then go and come back and post another update.  I am worn out and we have not even left yet!  Remember, we order from Norden Crafts, Hoffman Distributing and Mill Hill frequently, so if you see something you need and we don't have it in stock, we will be happy to order for you and if you can pick it up there is no charge for shipping!

August 3, 2008 - Wish I had some fantastic excuse for not posting, but I don't.  But fear not, Billie made a list for me so here goes!
First, we were cleaning out the back room - a very scary place! - and found some things that had not made it out to the shop.  From Just Nan we found 1 more of the Queen's Bluebird Box - a fabulous piece and probably the last one available.  Also one each of the In The Tin series - Hop and Sizzle and a fob and pin wheel.  These to are in short supply!
Now some new things - we got our Shepherd's Bush order from the June Market - Sail Away, Queen Sheep, Into the Night (A personal favorite) and a new Halloween Roll - Happy Pumpkin.  You can see these on Shepherd's Bush website.
From Lizzie Kate - Hocus Pocus, Fall Squared on the wonderful overdyed gingham fabric.  And the first two of the latest Flip Its - Holly & Stocking and Cookies & Santa.  I like Cookies and Santa the best!  She also has a border if you want to do them all in one.  It is available on her website as are pics of the new charts and new Boxers - Check it all out!
The last of the Little House Needlework Sweet Treat has come in - this is the Cake.  This is too cute - you can see it on LHN website - along with all the other great new designs.  We have ordered Queen Bee, Chocolates and Strawberry House.
Prairie Schooler ! The 2008 Santa has been released - along with 4 new charts.  You can see them all on her website.  Another bunch of winners.  And this year she has done snowmen!
The Just Cross Stitch Halloween Issue is in!  We only have 4 left and it just came in on Friday!  Better call and reserve your copy now!  Also be sure and put your name on the list for the Just Cross Stitch Christmas Ornament Mag, it should be coming in September!
Be sure and check out www.hoffmandis and www.nordencrafts.com for all the latest designs.  If you see anything you like, just let me know and we will be happy to get it for you.
Now, for what is new in the shop as far as Needlepoint!
From Raymond Crawford and Melissa Shirley - Halloween Witch Hats!  These make up into real hats with a brim and everythig.
From NeedleDeeva - some fabulous Santas and Ghosts.
From Shelly Tribbey - Little purse canvases - Cosmopolitans, Cupcakes and Hearts and great little leather clutches to put them in.
And from Kathy Schenkel - A Beach Santa and a Polish Santa.  Also a Black Cat purse ornament (Peggy has already finished one and sent it off to the finisher) and a Scottie/Westie purse ornament.
Check all this out!  Come and See Us!

May 30, 2008 - Yikes, I almost missed May!  I would have been in real trouble then.
We have gotten some great things in from Mill Hill in the last weeks- a few weeks ago we got some great Jim Shore designs in.  These are in the leaflet form and not a kit. The 3 publications are Santa's Workshop, Harvest Trio. and Awaken the Day.  There are also 3 kits available - these are quilted cats - Petunia, Scarlet and Sapphire.  Or purple, red and blue.  These are great designs based on the work of Jim Shore - you can see his non stitched pieces at Hallmark stores.  I love the Harvest Trio - as the summer months come, I look forward to fall.
Now just in today from Mill Hill - the Winter Bead and Button kits - Joy to the World, Deck the Hall, Silent Night and Jingle Bells.  They have also released 2 more in the Christmas Village set - Caroling and Needlework Shop.  If you are keeping count, there are now 14 designs in the Christmas Village set.  It is hard to decide which ones to leave out!  The carolers have taken their Scottie dog caroling with them!
Also 2 sets of ornaments.  The first is a set of Winter Greetings charmed ornaments - Frosty, Jingle, Merry,Peace, Noel, and Believe.  These kind of follow the fall ornament series of Hot Stuff,Thanks, Tabby Cat, Stars and Stripes, Moonlight Ghost, and American Eagle. Also there is a set of  Tiny Treasured Diamonds - Dove, Holly Noel, Menorah, snowflake, Poinsettia and Star of David.  Between those and the Spring set, you should be able to find something to suit your fancy.  And last, but not least, is the Winter Holiday kits - Nutcracker Ballet!  Drosselmayer, Clara, Mouse King, Nutcracker, Sugar Plum Fairy and Prince.  These are all great and would make great teacher gifts for the fall and winter (no, it is not too early to start thinking about next fall and Christmas!)  You could use them as gift tags or add a magnet to the back or whatever!  They are really very cute!  As always, check out all this stuff on the www.millhill.com website and order to your hearts content!  Just be sure to pick us as your vendor to fill your order.
Time to go weed the garden and spread some more mulch!

April 22, 2008 - Better be careful, April almost got a way from me!  April has been so very busy!  I went to the Dallas market the first weekend in April and have not caught up since!  I got a ton of great canvases at Dallas -  several from Raymond Crawford. Picked up a few cakes and a cupcake from Raymond,  took a Peppermint Berry class (one of his canvases!)   Brought back several stockings and ornaments and a few new pillow tops.  Brought the calla lilies from Alice Peterson - outstanding!  I have signed up to take a class on the single calla lily at the June market.
Some cross stitch has come in - the new Lizzie Kate - you can see them on her website www.lizziekate.com  They are fabulous as always.  And the fall Mill Hill kits have come in - both the button and bead kits and the fall ornaments.  You can see those at www.millhill.com  Remember, we are a vendor for Mill Hill and if you want to order from their site, please select us as your vendor!  You can also order anything on the site - not just Mill Hill, but also fabric, floss, needles, Kreinik braid and on and on and on.  So if you do not have a LNS, keep us in mind.
Well, I have names to put on some stocking and some ironing to do so...

March 29, 2008 - Aha a second posting in March!  Billie will be so proud!
And I repeat - Go Tigers Go - in the Elite Eight!  The game against Michigan State was awesome!  But as Coach Cal says - one game at a time!
The Raymond Crawford re- order came in and with it a Halloween cake and it was out the door almost before it came in.  I have ordered another.  I am looking at the Christmas cakes and cupcakes.  I think a cupcake would make a really cute ornament.  I will have to look at them when I am at Dallas market next weekend.  I have so much to look for in Dallas and only about  1 1/2 days to do it all!
We have put in the line of Vineyard silk and Shimmer silk. Vineyard silk is perfect for stitching on 18 ct canvas with no plying!  We have the complete line of shimmers and are putting the Vineyard line in gradually.  We have 70 of the 180 colors.  Just keep adding about 10 new colors every time we order!  We will have them all in no time.
The Quacker Virtues chart from ByGone Stitches has come in - fabulous!  Barbara has finished the Quaker Christmas - she must stitch in  her sleep - it is wonderful.  And we have re- stocked on those .  I am waiting on the order of Balsam Fir and then off we go.
Off to put a name on a stocking and Go Tigers Go!

March 15, 2008 - Well at least I will get one posting in during March!  We had snow in Memphis last week! 7"!  I think that is more than I have seen in Memphis the entire time we have lived here!
Not really a lot to report - We got the Raymond Crawford order in, sold the favorite cat and dog ornaments and have re-ordered.  They are so cute and would be so much fun to stitch.  Also some canvases from Alice Peterson - 2 geometrics and a couple of florals.  Several of those have sold!  Love it when that happens.
Still no shipment on the Kelly Clark mini socks - they are so cute, everyone needs at least one.  I am trying to convince Kelly to do some Halloween mini socks, we will see how that goes.
University of Memphis won the C USA conference title today - for the third time in a row.  They should be sitting pretty when they announce the NCAA tournament teams.  Go Tigers!
There are a couple more canvases orders still coming from January market - hope they get here before I head to Dallas market!

February 28, 2006.  Just made it to have another update in February.  Billie has been nagging and finally I sit down to do it -  again at home and in my nightie.
Lots to update you on - in cross stitch, needlepoint is just starting to come in from Long Beach.
Needlepoint - Kathy Schenkel Designs came in last week - the major new things from her - the "cat" ornaments.  The 12 days of Christmas in the shape of a fish with 12 different cats!  Even I have to say they are cute!
Kelly Clark - a partial order - new stockings big and small!  We finally got Billie's mini sock back from the finisher!  Very cute!  So cute I ordered 10 more mini sock canvases from Kelly!  You can see all of them on her website - www.kellyclarkneedlepoint.com
Now on to the Cross Stitch - This could take a while - may have to get another cup of tea to finish this.
Check out the new stuff on Lizziekate - www.Lizziekate.com
Notice that she is having a "Crazy Caption Contest"  The winner gets $100 worth of LK designs.  Put your thinking caps on and go to work.  I think the entries have to be in by Mar 18.
ByGone Stitches - Barbara has finished Quaker Christmas! Stunning!  Now they have a new one coming - Quaker Virtues!  It is equally stunning.  It is stitched mainly in blue, but you could pick other colors to suit you - there are some Belle Soie silks that would be great!
LHN and Country Cottage - new kits from them with Crescent colors.  From CC - Sweet Treats the first kit is in - for one of the squares and the border.  It finishes about 12x12 and will great for a "sweet" lover in your family!  Check it out on her website.
Another stunner - Quaker Turtles from With My Needle.  These are great "smalls" - although I think these are even smaller - about the size of a quarter and stitched over one - but equally charming stitched over two and the size of a fifty cent piece!  Check them out on her website.
Lots of other new designs - check them out on www.hoffmandis.com and www.nordencrafts.com !  Time to get dressed and get moving!

February 6, 2008.  I always start out with good intentions to update more frequently and here I am  -  just wait until August and I will slip back into my old habits.
Lizzie Kate came in today.  I am working from home and going by what Billie tells me so not much detail.  I just checked her website and the new designs are not up yet, but should be soon!  Billie really likes them.  Also in today - new Dovo scissors.  I really blew the budget on these, but they are great scissors and we have not had any for awhile.
Sorry not to have more LK detail but hopefully she will get them up on her website soon.

February 2, 2008.  Did not realize it has been so long since the last post!  Had a few computer issues and then the problem of doing inventory and going to Long Beach market!  Maybe things will settle down a bit before I go to Nashville market next weekend.  I doubt it!  A few things to bring to your attention.  Mill Hill has issued the new Spring Button and Bead kits and pin kits.  They are great - I love the margarita and martini designs!  You can see them at www.millhill.com.  Please note that Wichelt has put almost all of their catalog on the website, so if you need any other items or linens or fibers you should be able to find a lot there.
Also the first of the Lizzie Kate new flip-its have come - check them out at her website - www.lizziekate.com - quick before she releases the second set next weekend!
While doing inventory, we found some older Just Nan charts,  we have put them on 1/2 price.  There are some great designs there - we just need to make room for the newer charts.  Just call us or come in to see what we have available.
Needlepoint  canvases are starting to come in from January market.  It usually takes a few weeks for the first ones to come in.  Lots of good stuff coming!
Good Lord willing and the creek don't rise, I should be able to put up info about the Nashville market the end of next week - or Billie will yell at me!  Happy Stitching!

Nov. 4, 2007 - Christmas is getting closer!  finish that last ornament!  Hurry, Hurry!  And just in case you have finished everything, we have some new designs from Little House and Country Cottage.  We have Gingerbread Cottage, Snowflakes, and Winter Whites.  These are all fabulous designs,  and will definitely get you in the mood for the winter season.  You can see these on both www.hoffmandis.com and www.nordencrafts.com

From Mill Hill we have some new designs from Debbie Mumm.  These are little kits with Aida cloth and the floss and beads (these are from Mill Hill!)  These are small kits and would be good for beginners - not real big and not real complicated.  They are kitchen oriented - that eliminates me! - Toasty, Easy as Pie,  Mix it Up, Lil Cupcake, I'm Jsmmin', and Bowled Over.  They would look great in a kitchen.  You should be able to see these on the Mill Hill website - www.millhill.com

Check these designs out and come and see us, or call if you need me to ship.

October 25, 2007 - Three times in one month!  Must be a record!  We are busy trying to get the last minute finishing done.  Stitch faster!  And just in case you need something to stitch for the holidays - ByGone stitches has come out with Quaker Christmas.  It is a fabulous design!  And it only takes 20 skeins of Crescent Colors.  We ordered 6 and I think we have sold at least 3, more on order.  This would be a great design to stitch over the holidays for next year,  unless you are a turbo stitcher and can get it done for this year!
There is new Mill Hill coming, I am waiting for the rest of the Bent Creek Red Thread Snapper design to come out.
Happy Halloween and watch out for the ghosts and goblins!

October 14, 2007 - Halloween gets closer - can Christmas be far behind?  I think not!  Finishing deadline is Nov 1!  Get stitching!
Happy to report that Mill Hill seems to be getting back on track after the flood and mudslide!  They are shipping in a more timely fashion, but many items are back-ordered, which is certainly understandable.
Hopefully everything from the summer markets has come in - although we are always re-ordereing.  If you need something let us know!
Better get to work on the finishing!

October 5, 2007 - time does fly!  Went to the Mid-south Fair last week to look at the needlework and quilt exhibits.  Several of our customers won blue ribbons - Congratulations!  Need to have more entries next year!
Not much new to report - re-stocking some items.  We have sold out of the original order of Just Cross Stitch Ornament Magazines and have re-ordered, if you still need one.  Also we have re-stocked the Prairie Schooler designs and Rosewood Manor - Red Threads.  We have also gotten The Loose Feathers in stock again!  A great design.  Mallori is working on hers and it looks great!

September 20, 2007 - well here I am again!  Blackbird Designs Loose Feathers came in yesterday.  I don't remember the name but it is fantastic!  It a blackbird with autumn leaves!  It is finished as a sewing box lid and a needle cushion to match!  Fantastic - And the finishing directions are great and would not be very difficult.  Or you could finish it as a tray insert or frame it!  Take my word for it - if you love birds, autumn and Blackbird Designs, you are going to love this!

September 17,2007 - Oh My, I did not realize it had been so long since I updated this!  No way to go back and cover 3 months worth, so I will just start from here and go forward (and try to be more diligent!)
Since June we have gotten many things in - and I went to another market!  I swore in June that I would not go to another market until next January and well...  In August I decided to go to the Phoenix market.  It was really hot in Phoenix in August - surprise!  I stayed at the Embassy Suites Biltmore hotel.  It is in a fantastic location, but the air conditioning did not work in all the rooms!  And mine was one of them!  The hotel was full so I was stuck!  I ended up sleeping on the floor under the ceiling fan!  But I did find some great things.
The best thing I found was a dog tree from Kathy Schenkle.  It has the 12 days of dogs ornaments!  My favorites are 7 Scotties skating, 8 beagles barking and 10 labs leaping!  Too cute.  And she has a wooden tree for them!  She also has a new nativity.  These designers are too creative!
There have been a few new cross stitch designs - Prairie Schooler - see www.prairieschooler.com and Cricket Collection has a great chart that is the legend of "Sleepy Hollow".  Carriage House has released the entire alphabet with border chart.  Check out her website as well - I can't remember these websites, but www.hoffmandis.com has designer links to all of these.  Workbasket has a great new Quaker chart.  And JBW has some great Quacker designs - a rabbit, pear, mitten, and stocking.
That is enough for tonight - my fingers are starting to hit the wrong keys!
But there is a lot of great new things out there!  Check them out!  Come in or call!

June 22, 2007 - We got some great things in this week - from Alice Peterson some great little baby nightlight thingys.  You will have to come in to see them.  They are too cute and a fairly quick stitch ( always a good thing when the baby is already on the way!) also a cardinal and Christmas lights stocking.  It will be lovely when finished.
I hear that Shepherd's Bush June order is winging the way to Tennessee!  I can't wait to stitch one of the fobs for the Glory scissors!  You can see the new stuff on their website - www.shepherdsbush.net
Also new this week is the T. Layman designs - I am a member of the Knotty Girl Society!  We got the Bee Hive Pincushion kit in and I have it started ( something about good intentions!) and also a Fish to go on a basket purse.  We also got in a few of the pendant kits and the Gingerbread Reel and a couple of Gingerbread Lane designs.  These are so much fun to stitch!  You really have to try a french knot design.  We also have a notebook with all her designs shown and we can order any of them!
Come and see us and all the new stuff!

June 17, 2007 - Happy Father's Day to all the father's out there.  Have a great family day!
Friday was Lizzie Kate Day!  The new automatic came in - the monthly flip its - Aug, Sept, Oct came in - and yes, you have time to stitch this these little bits before Nov arrives!  Also the Summer and Autumn Banners Boxers came in.  So now you can do 3 of the 4 on one piece of fabric or individually.   I kind of like the one piece of fabric idea - one piece, one finishing and one place to put it.  I am not really good at the seasonal replacements.  I usually end up changeing out the 4th of July piece sometime in Oct or Nov!  So I like the idea of one piece!
She also released a fall crazy chart with some great fall ornaments that fit her feather tree (if you got that for the Christmas ornaments) and a stitching design.  You can see all of the new designs ( and the old ones as well) on her website - www.lizziekate.com check it out!
Time to start the reminder for the annual Just Cross Stitch Ornament magazine - where else can you get 75 ornament designs and some great recipes for $6.99.  If you want to be on the list to get one, let us know.  By the time they get here - usually in late Aug or early Sept - they will all be spoken for.  Call now or email and get on the list 901-681-9276 or stitchersinc@bellsouth.net.
Gotta run.

June 9, 2007 - And Mill Hill week continues!  This week we got the pin/ornament kits with musical instruments for the holidays!  I saw them at market and they are truly lovely!  Unfortunately for Billie there is no trombone, but the rest are beautiful!  Also 6 new banding kits - nutcrackers and snowmen!  Too cute!  You can check them out at the Mill Hill website - millhill.com.

The Market was last week - lots of good needlepoint.  Good cross stitch, but not lots!  I ordered the new Just Nan, but I think I am sold out of the Bluebird box already!  When they come in, if there are any to spare I will let you know. I did not order many as they were to be available after market as well - or until she ran out!  Well guess what?  She ran out! I also ordered the new house - my mind has drawn a blank on the title - It is the 3rd in the series.  When they come in and I can remember the title and the price I will put it up.  If I remember correctly, it should ship in August!

At Sample it, I got 4 Halloween canvases from Associated Talents - there is only 1 left, guess I better order some more!  Also ordered from Kelmscott - including the Halloween needle minder.  They came in today and only 3 are left!  If you want one let me know.  I will re-order if necessary!

I ordered more needlepoint than I intended and as it comes in I will let you know!  Lots of goodies coming!
May 18, 2007 - This must be Mill Hill week - today we got the newest "Outside the Box"  The title is Snug as A Bug!  It is so cute with a ladybug button!  It should be up on the website!  Don't forget if you are out of town you can call and order, or go to the Mill Hill site and order and select us (of course!) as your vendor.  There is a special instructions section on the order form if you need any products that are not on the Mill Hill site.

May 17, 2007 - Not much happening right now - most people are holding new designs for June market.  Just a short time away!  Today the Holiday designs have come in from Mill Hill.  There are 6 new buildings to go with the Christmas Village of last year.  Very cute!  There is a Queen Ann House, St Nicholas Cathedral - with last year's set, you could do 2 houses and a church or 2 churches and a house if you did not want to do all 12!  If there is anyone on your gift list who collects Department 56 villages these would make a perfect gift.  Also 3 new Santa ornaments and 6 new pin/ornament kits.  All very cute!  Check them out at www.millhill.com !

April 27, 2007 - If you live locally (or can see the Commercial Appeal newspaper online)  Today's paper has a picture on the front page of M Section from the Vesta Home Show.  It shows a set of bar stools with needlepoint backs,  these are of bunnies in tulips - and we have the canvas. It is a prework canvas so it would be a quick stitch.  And what an different use for needlepoint!  You need to come in and see the canvas.  I am planning to go to the Vesta show this weekend and plan to take some more pictures.

april 22, 2007 - Wow  - what a two weeks!  first of all, the new LizzieKate is in - love it!  You can see all the new stuff at www.lizziekate.com   I like them all - Billis is trying to organize it all so we can order the fabric to go with.  I have ordered the little prefinished things from Stitch a Gift for the Golf and the Watermelon design.

Lots of new needlepoint designs!  I went to Dallas market Apr 14-15.  And brought back lots and lots of canvases.  Mostly Halloween and Christmas ornaments and Christmas Stockings.  A few belts - including a red swirly design on 14 ct (most belts are on 18 for more detail, but 14 works on this one) and a yellow lab belt.  There are a few new pillow tops and of course there are more new ones coming from January market.  You must come in and see what we have, or call and we will try to describe what we have!

Time to get to the ironing!  Take care until the next update.

April 2, 2007 - 2 new charts from Little House and Crescent colors came in this morning.  They are doing little kits with 5 full skeins of Crescent colors and the chart.  This group is Goodwill and Strawberries.  Strawberries has 2 cute bunnies on the bottom and Goodwill is the scripture - He who seeks good finds goodwill.  They are both nice pieces and are an easy finish - they are about 5x5 depending on the fabric you use.  You can see them on Diane's website - www.littlehouseneedleworks.com.
Have a good day.

March 31, 2007 - Whew - I made it in March!  We have been very busy with lots of new things coming every day!  Yesterday the new Kelly Clark canvases came in - fabulous!  Another designer whose booth I need to stay out of!  You can see all of her designs at www.kellyclarkneedlepoint.com   We have the Teddy Stocking and the Gingerbread men stocking.  And then an assortment of Santas and snowmen and mini sock and mitten ornaments.  Too cute to pass up!

Also this week, Bongo - you have got to love the flamingo mini sock and the scottie Halloween and Scottie Christmas!

Also Amanda Lawford came in - I seem to have ordered a bunch of cats from her!  They are just too cute - from Mariko King - there is "Sushi for One", "Free Kittens" and Gold Fishing.  They  have Black and White checks around the edges.

Well, time to open the doors and get to work.

March 18, 2007 - Several weeks have passed and lots has been happening in the shop - stuff flying in and out the door, almost before we can get it priced!  Although I do manage to find a price in a hurry if I need to!  I wouldn't want you to have to wait to spend your money!

New Blackbird designs loose feather - the title escapes me - but it is a great design - features blackbirds!  And this year we are getting the fabric on auto with the charts so we have the charts and the fabric at the same time!  It is a really cool fabric.  Aren't they all - this is why we all have a stash of fabric, just because it was too great to pass up!

The new Cricket Collection charts have been released - you can see them on Hoffman and Norden Crafts websites.  They have some really great designs this time.  I still have to get the buttons and check the fabric.  That should happen this week!

Also got some painted canvases in for the "Jewelry" line.  I just checked back and see that I have mentioned it previously.  It is a fun concept and makes a pendant or earrings or cufflinks (for those who have stitched cummerbunds)  They are a quick stitch - the large pendant is only 25 stitched square - even I can get that finished, and I have!  It is in the shop, so stop by and take a look.   I ordered some painted canvases from JP for these - a frog, a bee, a ladybug and matching earrings, a fleur de lis, and a chinese calligraphy design.  I imagine I will have to reorder on these as well.

Well, my patient is calling, so I better get going.  Thanks for stopping by.

Feb. 25, 2007- More goodies came in this past week from San Diego market and I got the last of the Nashville market goodies out - although there are still lots of goodies coming!

From Artist's Collection - several Mile High Princess canvases - Harietta Hutch - a snowman with a bunny and Scottie Sue - with a Scottie, 2 dog Christmas stockings and 2 cat - very cute.  From Shear Creations - 2 Halloween stockings (these have already sold and I have reordered!)  The 2007 limited edition Santa is not quite ready - Pat is putting the last touches on it - so it should be coming soon.

Got some really cute ornaments from Stitchits - A very cute sweater orn with dog paw prints on it! and some black and white check ornies - a light bulb, a gingerbread man.  And a Tree lite shape with Joy and peace.

The new Prairie Schooler is in - I will probably have to re-order before the week is done.  They are fabulous!  You can see them at her web site - www.prairieschooler.com - I would like to do the Spring one first, but probably should start with the Summer - but I really like the sheep and the bunny!

At Nashville, I restocked the pineapple and strawberry tins from Periwinkle Promises - fabulous!

Time to go take care of my patient!  Be sure and check the new cross stitch releases from www.hoffmandis.com and www.nordencrafts.com Lots of good things.  If you see anything you like, just let us know and we will be happy to order it for you.

Feb 16, 2007 - My husband had back surgery again yesterday - 3rd surgery in a year!  Hopefully all is well.  This surgery is a little more involved that the last two and they kept him overnight.  As I sat in the waiting room, sharing stories with others waiting for loved ones, I realized that our troubles are few - he will recover from the surgery and he may have pain but he will recover.  Others are not so blessed.

I still have much to put out from Nashville - spending the day in the hospital kind of sets you back - but I will get it all done this weekend.  Lots of good stuff - the Hillside Samplings limited edition pieces are wonderful, and the tray with the matching cross stitch is fabulous.  Bent Creek has a new snapper series - Red Thread - it is another great design series.  There is a new Halloween series coming from Prairie Moon - details will be coming - it is a wire tree with stitched and other ornaments.

Well gotta run - off to physical therapy and then maybe to the hospital to bring Alan home.

Feb 11, 2007 - I am back from Nashville market and starting to wade through all the goodies - and there are many!  I saw lots of good stuff and will put it up as I can.  Also to let you know that the first part of the order from A Collection of Designs has come in - some Easter cookies, and some ornaments.  It is not too early to get started on ornaments.  Finishing deadline is coming soon!

Feb 6, 2007  Another month has gone by - and I am getting ready to go to Nashville market.  I will do my best to buy everything you need and want.  It should be exciting and always fun to see what is new and different.  There are about 165 vendors there so there should be something for everybody.

We have the new Lizzie Kate designs in - they are really great designs - I love the Spring Boxer and can't wait for the rest.  Of course, there are 2 new flip-its - so now we have Jan, Feb, Mar and April.  You can see all of her new designs on her website www.lizziekate.com  - she has so many great things to see - check out the old ones as well.

I have to start getting my lists together and I will try to keep up with all the new stuff when I get back.

January 20, 2007.  Wow it has been a long time since I last posted - but it has been busy!  I developed a frozen shoulder - obviously not enough stitching! - I would not recommend this!  It is very painful and apparently takes a long time to recover! I am getting to know the folks at physical therapy.
I went to San Diego Needlepoint market last weekend!  It was great - I spent a lot of money and ordered some really neat things.  This is an order market, so the canvases will be coming in slowly over the next 3-4 months.  I will try to update you as they come.  Some high points - New stockings and some great Halloween ornaments from Rebecca Wood.  She has a one-eyed mummy who is just too cute!  Melissa Shirley had some adorable candy cane ornaments and on and on.  A different concept is needlepoint jewelry - as soon as it comes I will let you know - I ordered pendants, earrings and cufflinks.  These are really quick stitches.  Also ordered some great ( I should say alot of them) Laurel Burch bags.  They are fabulous and there are even a few with dogs, fish, and horses, but most of them are cats!  And they will be at a great price. I will post when those come in - if you are out of town, you can call us and we will tell you all about them and then ship them to you - no problem.
Next month I will go to the Nashville market - this is the cash and carry needlepoint market!  So I will be coming back with lots of new goodies!  Can't wait - it will be exhausting  ( it is easier to take the steps between floors than the elevator - going down is always easier than up!) but exciting at the same time!
I guess that is it for now - lots of great new things coming!
December 23, 2006.  The sale has started this morning - it has been busy!!  And we have sold a lot - and there is still plenty left!  Everything in stock is 25% off and there are lots of canvases and cross stitch charts that are 50% off.  If you are out of town or can't get in you can call and we will be happy to pull and hold for you or charge and ship.  Time to get back to work.  We are open on Sunday Dec 24th from 1-5 - just for the sale.  We will be closed on Christmas Day.

November 30, 2006.  Well I managed to one last update before the end of November! We have been very busy with Christmas finishing and hope to have it all to its happy home before Christmas  Eve!  This is always a worrisome task, but somehow it always seems to fall into place.  Not much being released right now - the designers are getting ready for the holidays as well!

All the Lizzie Kate ornaments are in stock and would be a really quick stitch!  We have some little tuck away pillows for a quick finish.  Great for a last minute gift.

If you have not seen the Christmas Village framed piece from Mill Hill - you should stop by and see it.  It really is wonderful.  Every day I change my mind about my favorite buildings.

Hope all is well with you and yours and that you had a great Thanksgiving.

November 13,2006.  Yikes, it has been a while since I last posted.  My husband had back surgery the first of October and it has been a slow recovery!  But at least he is back to work part time.  There is light at the end of the tunnel!

2 New things to mention - from Blackbird designs - loose feathers club chart.  It is titled Moonlit Garden and features the verse "To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven"  It is a great piece with a house - it has a autumnal feel to it.

Also from Mill Hill are the new Words for Life series - Truth, Love,Beauty, Faith, Purity and Hope.  They are stitched and beaded kits on 16 ct fabric.  Each word features a different flower.  They are very pretty and would make a nice gift.  I checked this morning and Mill Hill does not have them up yet, but you should be able to see them soon on their website - www.millhill.com  check them out.

September 28, 2006.  Well I got 2 updates in September!  We have a few of the Just Cross Stitch ornament magazines left that are not spoken for - 4 to be exact so if you need one call and we will hold one for you.  For some reason that reminds me of the Prairie Schooler Santas - don't try to follow the logic - the 2006 Santa is in and I re-discovered that I can order single copies of many of the older ones, so if you need any to fill in some holes just let me know and I will be glad to get them for you.

Birds of a Feather has two new Halloween charts with fabric - they are great.  We ordered yesterday and they should be in soon.  Cricket Collection has some new ones coming - I have ordered them, but they are not here yet,  but look at them on Norden - www.nordencrafts.com.  They should have the Birds of a Feather up soon!  All of a sudden there are lots of new things coming that are really great.  Ordered some of the new Erica Michaels today as well.

Also some Christmas ornament canvases from Rebecca Wood - 2 funky mini socks with a santa and one with a nutcracker! And speaking of funky - a bear holding a fish wrapped in gift wrap!  And snow pup and a snowman who looks like "so big"  We also got 3 of the more sedate snowmen who are so cute.  It might push you a little to get them done for this year - although they are fairly small, but they would be fun to work on on Christmas Eve!  I think that was all I was supposed to put up - I'll check with Billie and see what she says!

September 8, 2006.  Hope you had a good and restful Labor Day.  We were closed and enjoyed the extra day off, did not get much done - as is the norm - but a little bit.

I ordered some old and some new Halloween and Thanksgiving charts today - they should be in next week.  Yes, it is time to get started on these charts - or maybe time to get started on Christmas items!  The new Lizzie Kate came in yesterday - too cute!  I think I like the "Is it too late" chart - you can see them all at www.lizziekate.com.  Go look they are great!

August 30, 2006.  Well August is almost (but not quite!) over.  It has been busy in the shop the last couple of weeks- and this is good.  Back to school and lots of things to do - now if I could find some time to stitch.  Maybe on Monday!  We will be closed on Labor Day - but open on Saturday and Sunday - since this is the first Sunday of the month!  But I will be playing nurse to my husband - again!  Another epidural shot on Friday.  I would like to think this is the end, but seems to be just a stop-gap measure.  I really need to get stitching and finish those sandals before it is too late to wear them - might already be too late!

Lots of great Mill Hill designs in the shop - check it out at www.millhill.com and if you are out of town you can order from us thru Mill Hill.  I still really like the Christmas Village kits and don't forget all the great Halloween and fall designs they have!  I have restocked on the MDesigns tree ornaments and have the newest - Christmas tree and Wish on the way!  Fabulous designs and you can stitch these in whatever colors and embellishments you choose.  Great way to use up some of those left over threads and fabrics.  Check out what is new at www.hoffmandis.com and www. nordencrafts.com and let me know if you just have to have anything!

Take care, and have a safe and sane Labor Day.

August 18, 2006.  Billie asked me today if I had put any of the new stuff on the website -opps!  Better get to it!  The Prairie Schooler arrived as promised.  They are all great designs - I am leaning toward the Autumn Winds design in hopes of having it ready for next fall (2007)  It should not take all that long it is just getting to it!

Lots of new needlepoint has come in - Some great Halloween canvases from Mindy.  Love her designs and so well painted!  From Jane Nichols some great butterflies and flowers.  These are smaller pieces but painted on 14 mesh canvas.  They are maybe 9x9.  Bright and fun!  Re-stocked some of the Easter Egg canvases from Kathy S.  So quick to stitch and fun little pieces that come with their own "feet" to stand on.

Cross stitch market was just in Charlotte last weekend, it was an order market and it will take a while for stuff to make it into the pipeline!  Lots of good stuff!

Just a reminder - Christmas finishing deadline is 1 Nov. - don't be late - it's a very important date!

Take care and have a good weekend.

July 28, 2006 - Jeepers July is almost gone.  Prairie Schooler designs are in the mail - released in July as advertised.  I talked to Nancy today, a small problem with shipping, but our designs are on the way!  If you want to see them go to her website www.prairieschooler.com  The 2006 Santa is fabulous and then 4 great new samplers - I probably will stitch the autumn one as that comes first - or maybe I should do one of the Christmas ones so I have more time to finish it!  What a problem.

Tomorrow is the last day of the sale!  And on Monday we will take stock of what is left and what needs to be ordered and re-stocked.  If you want anything at the sale price - tomorrow is the last day to come in, call or email me with your needs!

July 17,2006 - Another slow period going here.  Not much new coming in - always seems to straggle in after a market.  We do have the 10th Anniversary ornament magazine from Just Cross Stitch.  Makes you want to sit right down and start stitching.  The 2006 ornament magazine won't be here until Sept.  Be sure and let us know if you need to be put on the list for that issue.  Also, still no sign of the 2006 Prairie Schooler Santa - he should be coming any day now.  If you need him, let us know.  So hurry up and wait!

None of the needlepoint that I ordered at the June market has come in, usually takes about 6 weeks for that to make it into the mail.  I will let you know as it comes in.

Well, take care and try to stay cool - seems everybody is really heating up this summer!

June 25, 2006 - Another week has flown by - Lizzie Kate came in this week.  Check them out at www.lizziekate.com some really cute designs for fall.

June 11, 2006 - I am at the TNNA market - lots to see and take in!  Lots of punchneedle - I think it is time to give it another go.  I found some really cute, light and bright  kits and an inexpensive needle.  I have ordered them and see how they go.  I saw ( and ordered!) lots of new designs - can't wait for them to come in!  I will try to post them as they come.

Time to hit the hay - lots more to do tomorrow!

ay 23, 2006.  More new stuff from Mill Hill.  The July/August Windowpane kit has come in!  It has  dog on a park bench and the cutest little hot pink flower in a pot to stick on the frame.  And a quick stitch 10 ct Betsy Ross linen - don't your eyes need a break from stitching on the 40 ct?  You can see them on the www.millhill.com along wwith the new Button and Bead kits and winter ornament kits.  When I posted about the Village kits,  I forgot to mention that you can always stitch them on 28 ct linen as well as the perf paper.  I am going away for a few days - need to take one or 2 with me!  Do you need a vacation project?  We can help!

May 20, 2006.  Spring has come to Memphis - or should I say summer!  It should get to 90 degrees today and/or tomorrow and then upper 80s the rest of the week!  Ugh!

We got a few new things in this week - Mill Hill has released the new  Christmas Buttons and Beads kits and the Winter pin/ornament kits.  They are all great!  The 6 Button and Bead kits are a Christmas Village - Toy Shop, Country Church, Post Office, Train Depot, Victorian House and Tree Farm.  They would like great all framed in one frame with a mat to separate them, or you could stitch them on fabric instead of the perf paper that come in the kits!  Or Stitch the Train Depot and add the little train car from the ornament series to the frame.  Lots of possibilities!  Check them all out at www.millhill.com.  If you can't get into the shop, you can order them on line and pick us as the shop to fill your order!

Other than that, things are kind of slow as designers get ready for the June market in Indianapolis.  Should be lots of fun and great new designs!  This is an order only market, so things will trickle in over the summer!  I will let you know what I find when I get back!

Gotta go jump in the pool!  'Til next time.

May 9, 2006.  Yes, I know twice in one week is a little much, but what can I say?

I got a notice from Mirabilia this am that they are retiring several designs.  When the current inventory is gone that is it!  The ones they are retiring are:  The Dreamer, My Lady's Garden, English Roses, Baby Boat,Stone Roses, Blooming Bride, Giggles in the Snow, Under the Friendship Tree, Le Nouveau Sampler, The seaside Kingdom, The Blossom Harvest, The Lady of the Flag, Fairie Treasure, and Guardian Angel.  You can see these on her website www.mirabilia.com.  If any of these are on your to purchase list - do it now or you will be paying a lot of money on ebay in a couple of years!  If you want any, let me know and I will try and get them for you.

May 7, 2006.  Yikes!  It is May already!  Don't forget Mother's Day is next Sunday - we can always do gift certificates - and don't have to be local to buy one.  Now is the time to get one.

We had a few things come in this week - I'll start with needlepoint today.  From Raymond Crawford, some great little 5x5 for girls - soccer girl, tennis girl, shopping girl, wine girl, riding girl.  He has a million of them.  They are really cute and would be great inset into a pillow or framed.

Also from Canvasworks - we re-stocked on the little nativity canvases.  They are so cute.  They come 3 (or more) to a canvas- a great way to use little bits of left-over threads from other projects.

In cross stitch, we got the Strawberry Garden - as I understand it has really been discontinued this time, but we have a few left from the re-order.  So if you want one, call or stop by NOW!  Quaker Garden is also close to being out of print, I think we have 2 left!  These Blackbird Designs are really flying out of here and being discontinued quickly.  They have usually not been out of print until they had been out for a year, but not this year.

I think that is it.  Talk to you next week.

April 25, 2006.  Almost the end of April - time is flying by!  Got info today on the 10th Anniversary Just Cross Stitch ornament magazine.  This is a special issue - it will have favorite designs from all of the past 10 years of publication of the Ornament issue.  There will be 92 designs and it will cost $19.98.  That is about all I can tell you about it at this time.  They will have it at the June market and I will be able to see what is really in it as well as the 2006 magazine.  You can see the cover at the Just Cross Stitch website.  So now you know as much as I do - and it will ship the end of June.  Let me know if you are interested and I will order one for you.  Also time to start thinking about the 2006 issue!  But that won't come until later in the summer.

Got some new canvases from Rishfield designs this morning. 4 Fabulous Bunnies - they would look great as a grouping either framed or a series of pillows.  Not really sure what kind of bunnies they are - besides bunny 1,2,3 & 4.  Maybe Billie can educate me when she sees them.  Also from Janet Gaynor some very cute Tooth fairy pillows, one for a girl and one for a boy.

Guess that is it for today.  Almost forgot, I only have one of Blackbird Design Quaker Garden left, and not sure I can get anymore so speak up if you want it.

April 21, 2006.  Wow the Cricket Collection came in today!  Summer and Flip Flops.  Carrying on with the idea of little things to hang on a tree - here comes flip flops.  They would also be really cute on a T-shirt, on Jeans (I can see them going up a leg or on the seat - very cute!) or on a summer tote bag.  There are flip flops with a sun, cherries, lemons, a sea horse, palm tree, pea pod, pansies and an anchor and a wonderful beach house with adirondack chairs - take me to the beach, I am really ready!  I am sure they will be on Norden, Hoffman and Wichelt soon.  The automatics just went out and the distributors should be getting them soon!

Also this week I got 2 really great needlepoint canvases - one is frogs and dragonflies.  It is really fun.  Also the checkerboard bunny.  This canvas has been around for a few years, but it is still very cute.  Come in and check it out.

Gotta go, the dryer just buzzed and I want to get the shirts out so I don't have to do serious ironing!

April 11, 2006.  Right after I did the update on Sat, in came the new Erica Michaels charts - they are great.  Military Wife's Prayer (Very nice!), Love and Cherish - A wedding sampler, and Hospitality.  You can see them on www.nordencrafts.com.  The prayer is very nice and would appropriate for any military wife.

For the month of April, Stitchers is the retailer of the month on the Teresa Wentzler website.  You can find us at www.twdesignworks.com.  Teresa has a very nice website and we do appreciate the opportunity to be on her website.  Especially since my  computer died in the middle of the preparation and I had to send her hand written copy for her to put in.  Above and beyond the call of duty on her part!

April 8.2006.  This week has been rough for TN weatherwise.  Tornados in Dyer County last weekend and then Nashville yesterday.  We had wind, rain and hail and that is all.  There were many deaths and still some unaccounted for.  If you are in TN (or anywhere there has been bad weather) we hope you are all well and safe.

Last weekend, I went to Dallas for the Destination Dallas market.  Lots to see and lots to buy - and buy I did!  Bought some more Kelly Clark designs - she new ones since San Diego - you can see her designs on the internet - www.kellyclarkneedlepoint.com .  I think that is it - if not google Kelly Clark and you will find it.  She also has 2 new stockings coming.  She has never done stockings before, but I ordered them both and they should be here the first part of May.  Also picked up the snowmen to re-stock.

I found some nice florals from Rosalie Peters, Patti Mann, Alice Peterson and JP Designs.  They are really nice designs and some are a little different than we have had before.  Alittle more geometric than just straight florals.  Patti had some little nautical designs - very cute.

From Strictly Christmas she had some new ornaments including a NASCAR santa and a motorcycle santa.  Very cute.  New to this market was Designing Dogs - she had a Welcome Bone and a Bone Sweet Bone!  From the point of it all - 2 belts a golf tee belt and a fishing belt.  From JHL 2 dog belts one is scotties and one is lab heads with bright kerchiefs.  Black, chocolate and yellow - very cute!

On the cross stitch front, this week the new Mill Hill kits came in - for the FALL!  Believe it or not it is time to start thinking about fall and then can Christmas be far behind?  I think the new ones are on the Mill Hill website.  They are so cute and you can put the little "pin" guys on the frame.  Be sure and take a look.  www.millhill.com. And that about sums up this week.  Lizzie Kate should ship next week.

March 26, 2006.  Wow time flies when you are having fun.  I did not realize that it had been 2 weeks since the last update.  So here goes.  I am making progress on the computer front.  I am typing this from my new desktop unit at home.  Of course, the cable for the printer did not come, so I can't set that up yet, maybe next week.  I plan to take the laptop to the shop to use it there and see if I can start checking email and ordering from the shop!  I am excited!

Now for what is new in the shop.  We sold the last of the Blackbird Design Loose Feathers designs - Strawberry Garden.  That went very quickly and is now out of print!  Apparently that was very popular!  I have some new Birds of a Feather Designs on order from Norden.  Don't ask me what they are, the list is at the shop and I can't remember their names.  But you can see them on www.nordencrafts.com.  They are very bright and come with the hand dyed fabric.  I think you will like them if you like Birds of a Feather at all.

The Kelly Clark model is in the shop, I need to send it back to her in May so she can take it to market in June!  It is outstanding!  If you want to see it, you need to come in to the shop soon.  If I had the printer cable and knew how to scan and put pictures on the web site, I would do that.  But I have had all the computer education I can handle for one week right now.  But I digress.

Got a great canvas from Cheryl Shaeffer - Don't make me get my flying monkeys!  It really is fabulous and would make a great throw pillow.

Still more canvases to come, again the list is at the shop and I am here!  But they are not, so it does not really matter.  I will just have to let you know as they come in.

I am going to Dallas Market on 1 April and back on the 3rd.  Should be able to bring lots home-so I should be able to post lots of needlepoint after I return.  This is always a quick trip, but if I can price it while still in Dallas, I can get it out quickly when I return and hopefully post it quickly.  By next post, I should have the designs from Birds of a Feather and maybe even remember their titles.

Lots of new cross stitch should be coming in April - Cricket Collection,  maybe another Just Nan, some new designs from Erica Michaels,  Workbasket and who ever else told me in Nashville that they would be releasing new designs in April!

I guess that is enough for today,  time to get to work on my shoe flaps.  The white is all done, I think that the black comes next - save the cherries for last!

March 12, 2006.  Another busy week - everybody getting ready to go out of town for Spring Break!  Maybe I can get some of those chores done this week.  I need to get the office cleaned out before Mallori is home for her Spring Break!  I promised her I would work on it while she was at school!

Not much to report on the Cross Stitch front - we did get a few things in this week.  The Prairie Schooler charts came in - I think they came by way of Singapore!  I really like the Birdsong titles.  You can see them on all the usual websites as well as the Prairie Schooler site.  Also managed to some more of Strawberry Garden from Blackbird Designs.  It just came out since the first of the year and is already all gone and word is she will print no more!  If you want one let me know NOW!

On the needlepoint front!  We got 4 stockings from Dee Ross Designs.  They are really fabulous,  I had forgotten what they were until they came in - I ordered them last October! - there is a very nice angel stocking, a black cat, candles and a cross word puzzle design.  Very nice and at a good price!

From Patty Paints, the shoe flaps came in.  These make really cute sandals that are based on Dr. Sholl's shoes.  The turtles, pink pineapples, pink poodles and lighthouses have all sold.  We still have the goldfish school, Kitty kats and multicolor dots on black left.  The Venice scene was backordered, but I hope it will be in soon!  Now is the time to get started on these so you can wear them this summer.

We are doing well with the Kelly Clark Designs.  I ordered an initial in pink and green and have sold 3 so far.  They are also available in blue and yellow.  So cute and perfect for a little girls room.  I hope to have a model soon - come in and check it out!

I am sure there is more, if you come in I might even remember what else there is.

March 5, 2006.  Another whirlwind week, and many thanks to all of our customers.  Thanks to you I have had to re-order almost everything from market!  Outstanding!

New cross stitch designer this week.  My Big Toe Designs.  Not too sure about the name of her company but some really nice designs.  You can see her designs at www.mybigtoedesigns.com.

Some new needlepoint came in this week.  From Kathy Schenkel - adorable Easter designs.  They are egg shaped and when finished sit on a little painted foot!  Also from JMalahy designs and Teen Zone sign and a snowman that is holding a menora and a string of christmas tree lights.  Great for families that celebrate both holidays!  Also a magnolia ornament.

Also some canvases from Amanda Lawford.  Some nice Christmas pillow designs and the Holiday Cardinal is back in stock.

That is all I can think of, I am sure there is more and Billie will remind me tomorrow of what else I should have included.

February 25, 2006.  OK this is the third time to try this!  I am getting very frustrated.  Come see the new stuff.  Check out cross stitch on www.hoffmandis.com, www.nordencrafts.com, or www.wichelt.com.

They lots of the new stuff up, we have sold a lot of it and re-ordered.  Be sure and check out Blue Ribbon Designs.  They have an alphabet sampler that is very interesting.  Each box incorporates a different letter of the alphabet, some of them are a little difficult to figure out, but they are in alphabetical order.

We also got an order from Princess and Me.  We ordered Santas and the cutest Penguin, they come with stitch guides.

Hopefully this will post and I will not be cranky the rest of the weekend.

February 12, 2006.  Well I made it up to Nashville and back - despite the rain, snow and sleet!  I brought back MANY things.  And the bags seem to get heavier every time I lift them.  I picked up the collaboration sampler - A Noble Pursuit.  The pictures do not do it justice!  It is fabulous!  Lakeside Linens did not have enough dyed fabric to bring, so I had to order.  It calls for silk thread, and they were not there, so I have to check my supplies and order on Monday.  In a perfect world, the thread and fabric will come about the same time!  There were many beautiful things to look at and buy and buy I did.  So now I have done my part and I hope you will do yours!

I picked up the rest of the Winter Snapperville set from Bent Creek.  You can see it at www.bentcreek.com.  I think I like the horse drawn sleigh the best.  There is a chart for around the outside if you do all 4 - it was shown in swirls of blue with white snowflakes and a few white buttons.

I also bought some Ewe and I and Friends charts from Twisted Threads.  I think Ruth has them up on her website - www.twistedthreads.com.  There were lots of "Valentines" charts that I picked up from Ruth.  Also check out the new design from Heart in Hand.  Cecelia has done a great job with her new charts.

I check out Mosey and Me - Frank was not there so Judy was in charge.  In Frank's wonderful style - a dog, rabbit, pig and cow.  Sorry no cats, but I did manage to buy more cat charts than dog charts.   I think this is unfair, however...

I really did buy lots of cat charts - you will have to come see them.  I even bought some mesh project bags with an assortment of designs - nurse, dog, cats, tulips, rabbits and 3 others!  Really cute and fun.  I also got some ort bags with scotties!

Not much for gadgets at this market - apparently we are gadgeted out!  Maybe by June there will be some new ones. (Hard to think about June sitting here with snow on the ground!)

That is all I can remember right now, but I will get on it and try to get organized and post more this week.

February 8, 2006.  Can't believe it is time to go to Nashville market already!  This thing rolls around faster every year!  I will be back in the shop on Monday and will be putting things out as fast as I can.  I always have good intentions to price what I buy on Saturday on Saturday evening and then do the Sun purchases on Sunday evening.  But that concept never seems to work!

The new Lizzie Kates are in - more of the Christmas ornaments and a chart so you can stitch them them all in a square.  The chart calls for 32 ct, which makes each ornament 2" square.  If your eyes are over 40, you can easily do it on 28 ct.  And they would be 2.25" square and the charm would still fit!  There is also a spring boxer jr and 2 other spring charts.  Check them out on her website - www.lizziekate.com.  She will have a few new things at market, but mostly what has already been released at market.

Bent Creek will have some fun things - they always do - from their designs to their booth.  And the new Snapperville chart will be there.

A few needlepoint canvases came in this week.  Florals from Village Needlecraft - including a new Historic Charleston piece.  Also some stockings from Lee Needle Arts.  And a cute cat and dog piece from Raving Beauties.  Raving Beauties has been out of the market for a while, but she decided to come back to needlepoint.  Lots more coming.

Time to get to work.  I have got to get ready to go to Nashville before Friday afternoon.

January 29, 2006 - Still quiet here.  I went to Needlepoint market last weekend and saw lots of new and exciting things and even ordered a few.  As they come in, I will put them on the website.  Ordered some new things from Melissa Shirley, Rebecca Wood, Kathy Schenkel and a host of others.  And in 2 weeks, I go to Nashville for Cross stitch market.  That is a cash and carry market so I will bringing lots home.  Give me a few days to get it organized and out, but there should be some great things coming back with me.

The new Lizzie Kate automatic is selling very well.  They are some great little ornaments.  They are also some inspirational words on them that would make nice little gifts to friends or people in need of special thoughts - hope, friends, peace etc.  You can see them at www.lizziekate.com.

Also, from one of the black cat people, little monthly cats and we found a little black frame with pegs that is the perfect size.  You could use it as a key holder and change the design monthly.

The third design of the new Bent Creek winter snapperville should be coming soon.  There will be one more in the series and we will start the Spring Snapperville series.  You can see them at www.bentcreek.com.

Enjoy the Super Bowl next week, and rest up for when I get back from Nashville!

January 14, 2005  - Not much to report this week, my husband had back surgery on Thursday - had to be there at 5:30 am!  We made it and he made it thru the surgery and is doing well!  But he does seem to be high maintenance!

Still not too much new has come in - the cross stitchers are waiting for Nashville market and I have not been to Needlepoint market - that is this coming weekend.  Remember if you want me to look for anything at either market - let me know.

Did get a few things in from a needlepoint vendor.  A couple of floral canvases - pink tulips and a poppy piece that we have had in the past.  Also a great cat piece - it is boxes of outlined cats.  Does that make sense?  But it really is kind of neat - it is black, white and red.  You could do the cats in black, or white or orange or all different or all the same!

We are getting lots of interest in the Collaboration piece.  It is a limited edition piece and probably won't be available for too long.  If you want to see it - go to www.withmyneedle.com.  It is called a Noble Pursuit.  Let me know if you want one.

Time to go back to my nursing duties!

January 7, 2006 - Well one week down in 2006, pretty soon I will be reminding you about the finishing deadlines for Christmas.    Not much happening here - trying to order, we let stock dwindle at the end of the year - less to count and less to pay taxes on!  And we have to make room for the new stuff.  Going to Needlepoint market in 2 weeks and then to Nashville in February.  We have cleaning and re-arranging trying to make more room, but it never really seems to happen.  I took some pictures today.  Hope they don't look too cluttered.  If they turn out, I will try to get my friend to put them on the website - but no promises.

The Lizzie Kate designs are going well.  I ordered a new Petei santa today - Paul Bunyun.  Big santa with a big ax and little tiny trees.  Too cute.

Do come in and check out the new sale items!

December 31, 2005 - I forgot to mention yesterday that we have finished inventory and have found some new things to add to the 1/2 price table.  We still have some canvases that are 50-75% off, some 1/2 price frames and all the Americana designs are 1/2 price.  We added some new cross stitch designs, including some Santa and Snowman kits from Lorri Birmingham.  If you are out of town and interested in any of these give us a call and we will tell you what we have.

Again, take care and Happy New Year.

December 30, 2005 - Well this should be the last update of 2005.  Seems like just yesterday we were all worried about the new millenium and what that would do to computers etc.  Guess we survived that one!

Not much is new right now - everyone is waiting for market!  I can't wait to go - it always gets me excited and ready to stitch lots of new things.  And speaking of market - don't forget the new collaboration sampler from With My Needle and friends.  I will be picking up the chart, fabric and silk thread kit at Nashville.  So if you want one, let me know.  You can see it on Ellen's website www.withmyneedle.com I think it will be a great sampler - and also great big.  Remember this is a limited edition (I am not sure how many!)  so it probably won't be around for long.  Check it out!

New Lizzie Kate came in yesterday - three great little ornament flip its - Love, Friends, and Hope.  There will be 12 in the set.  If you want to finish them the way Linda has, just let me know and I will order you a kit of Weeks Dye Works overdyed wool and extra buttons.  These are stitched on 32 ct lugana, but Billie and I think you could stitch them on 28 is you wanted.  They will go in size from 2" square to 2.25".  The charm should still fit with no problem.  Also, a new boxer - These are the Days.  You can check all this out on Linda's website - www.lizziekate.com.

There have been some rumors about the Just Cross Stitch Ornament Magazine.  They intend to continue the magazine!  So don't be concerned that you won't be able to get those fabulous Christmas ornament designs.

And speaking of rumors - there should be new designs from Drawn Thread coming in mid-Janaury. It has been a while since she has done new designs, hopefully there will be many great new designs from Drawn Thread in 2006.

And with that, I wish you and yours a safe and Happy New Year, and safe travels for all.  And that is it until 2006.

December 23, 2005 - did not realize it had been so long since the last post.  My computer has been having problems.  First I "lost" java script, which I need to post an update, then the thing crashed, got it fixed, still no java, crashed again, got it fixed, but still no java and then it crashed again and now I have a very nice door stop.  I haven't figured out what to buy yet, but working on it.  I the meantime I am checking email etc on a friend's computer.  Hope to be up and running in 2006!

Not much new has come in, it is the end of the year blues - waiting for Nashville!  And speaking of Nashville,  the Collaboration Sampler is up on www.withmyneedle.com.  It looks really neat.  I can hardly wait to get my hands on it.  It is a limited edition and I do not expect it to last long, so if you want one, let me know now so I can be sure to get one for you.

Gotta run, Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.  Maybe by the next time I do an update I will be on my own computer!

November 21, 2005 -Not much happening this week, everyone is getting ready for Turkey Day.  We have a turkey in the refrigerator and bread is set out to get stale for the dressing.  Might even make a pie this year.  Maybe!

Several customers have stitched the Lizzie Kate - Mr and Mrs Pilgrim - they are so cute and make a wonderful sit about for the front hall or your buffet table.  You can see them on her website - www.lizziekate.com.  And the stamp it - flip its are completed for the year.  Don't know how she keeps coming up with these great ideas year after year.

Got the new Mill Hill window pane kits for Jan/Feb for 2006.  They came in today - really cute with snowmen - already for winter.  You can see those at www.millhill.com.

Take care and don't eat too much turkey!

November 12, 2005 - Hope all of you have had a chance to check out the new Lizzie Kate.  The Think Winter is so cute.  I can't wait for the new flip its - they are going to be a set of 12 ornaments!  How cute is that?

Also on Friday the new spring Mill Hill kits came - if you have finished your holiday stitching and are ready to start on spring, we are ready.  These should soon be posted on the Mill Hill website - www.millhill.com.  There are 6 button and bead kits and 6 pin kits.  I love the little blue bird and of course, Billie loves the frog.  check them out.

Now, if you are really planning ahead,  there is a new design coming at the Nashville market.  It is called the Nashville Collaboration and is from 10 of our favorite designers - bright needle, LaDDa, primitive traditions, with my needle, W orkbasket, Carriage House, Hands to Work, Patricia Ann, Praiseworthy Stitches and A stitch and a Prayer.  Each designers contribution can be stitched individually or as one large piece.  The chart is to retail for $40, and will be stunning.  If you want one, now is the time to reserve it.  As I learn more I will post it.

November 9, 2005 - Hope you all survived  Halloween and all the ghosts and Goblins!  We had a nice night and had a fair number of trick or treaters!  So now it is time to stitch for the holidays in earnest!  It will be the end of the year before you know it!  Lizzie Kate even has a new chart for New Year's.  She has some really cute new releases which you can see at www.lizziekate.com.  Also the Dec snapper is out, so that completes that series.  She has a new series coming for next year, those should come the end of December.  I will let you know when those come.

Bent Creek has a new set of Snappers - there will be 4 in the series. To cover the whole year - they are on order - you can see them at www.bentcreek.com.  Let me know if I need to save you a set.  You can stitch them all together or individually.

Time to get to the ironing - hope you all  have a good week.

October 30, 2005 - I thought I did not have much to post - if anything, but started looking around and here are a few things!

From Blackbird designs - Blessings be Thine.  It is a great Holiday piece with red and green and holly,  I think it could be out from Thanksgiving on!  Alsosold out of Star and Skeleton Crew, they are on re-order and should be in this week.

Little House Needleworks has released another pair of winners.  Dog House and Kitty Cottage.  Another chance to see if Dogs or Cats are more popular.  You can see all of these designs at www.nordencrafts.com or if it is not the middle of the night, come in and see them in person.

A great new limited edition kit from Mirabilia - this is to be the first of 6.  The kit includes the fabric and threads including Crescent Colors.  It is called the Christmas Elf Fairy and you can see her at www.hoffmandis.com.

Guess that is it for the week.  Take care.

October 23, 2005 - Wow!  Fall has almost come to Memphis,  we are even going to light a fire in the fireplace tonight!  First time since last winter!  I am sure we will have some warmer days, but it is nice.

What is new?  Not much right now!  Waiting for market in January and February.  But we do have a few things.  And don't forget the 1 Nov finishing deadline!  Stitch like a madwoman to get this stuff done!

From Painted Pony - the Cowboy Santa.  I have him partially stitched.  He comes with leather for the chaps.  If I had not deleted the first time I mentioned him...  He really is cute and a pretty easy stitch.

Also got a few of the Shelly Tribbey small skate canvases, it is a little late for this year, but not too early to start for next year.  Although they are so small, with some dedicated stitching, they could still make it for this year.

From Mill Hill the last Pixie Picket is in.  As I understand, it is the last of the year and the end of the series.  There will be no Pixie Picket next year, but there will be the Window Pane series.  As always, if you want to sign up for automatic, just let me know.  This one is really cute - with a Santa.  You don't have to have the entire series to do just one month.  With the little frame, it would be so cute year after year!  You can see the whole series on the newly revamped www.millhill.com.

Also from Shepherd's Bush, Star is in, the buttons came yesterday, so I should get it together on Monday.  It really is great and can be seen on www.nordencrafts.com

That's about all I have to offer today, Have a great Halloween and don't eat too much chocolate!

October 14, 2005 - I guess I better do an update - a customer pointed out today that I had not done an update since Oct 2!  I guess if people are going to read this...

A few new canvases in today - from Painted Pony, the cowboy and cowgirl angels.  I took these classes at market this year and I love them.  The Cowboy is almost finished, guess I better get on it and bring it in so you can see  how cute he is, and then get started on the girl.

Also a few new pre-work canvases - some birds and a really cute pair of kittens.  And speaking of cats, I have the kitty cat sandal flaps that go on Dr. Scholl's sandals.  Now would be a great time to get started and have them already to go when spring rolls around!

Blackbird Designs - the new loose feathers - Garland Fair.  Another great piece.  Also I have re-ordered the Trix or Treat book.  Several great designs.  And I have also reordered an older book from them - which I think is called Fall Collection!  Fabulous.

Mill Hill - the November Pixie Picket Kit is in - great little piece with crows and a shock of wheat.  Also the Window Pane Design - A tree and Santa looking out the window.  You can see them at millhill.com.

Shepherd's Bush - a new leaflet - Star.  The buttons are on order.  Very nice for the holidays.  You can see this at hoffmandis.com and nordencrafts.com.

I guess that is all I have to offer,  but will definitely try to keep up in the future.

October 2, 2005 - Just a quick update today.  A few new things from Shepherd's Bush - don't forget Reed's stocking - there is still time to get one of their stockings done for this year.  Reed's is a shepherd and a little darker colors than usual.  2 new kits - Thankful Sheep and Believe.  The titles kind of explain them.  Believe is on a larger count fabric - 10 ct I think and Thankful sheep features a sheep with a pilgrim hat!

I ordered some needlepoint sandle flaps from Patti Paints for some customers - got the Venice Gondola pattern and Kitty Cats in.  These are so cute, do stop and see them.

The Sophia scissors are in - I love the Red.  I definitely need to order more!  And we are getting low on the ornament magazine -I think we just have 2-3 copies that are not spoken for!

Gotta run - time to get to the shop.  Take care and have a good week.

September 25, 2005 - Looks like Hurricane Rita did not do as much damage as Katrina and for that we are grateful.  Hopefully there will be no more Hurricanes this year and Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas can all get about recovering, although this will not be an overnight kind of thing.

I am going to try to go to the Mid-south fair today - at least 2 customers - Robin King and Melanie Simmonds got Best of Show Ribbons.  I will try to get some of the winners into the shop for you all to come see if you can't get to the fair!

Not much new this week,  but several sell outs and re-orders will be the order of the day on Monday.  La D Da Gabrielle Rose is gone again, OUr Daily Bread is almost gone.  From Imaginating, Thankfulness and Bethlehem have been flying out the door.  Still have not had time to stitch a shop model!  Cricket acorns and Skeleton ship are still selling well.  The ornament magazine is selling quickly,  I think we have called everyone on the list.  The rest seem to be going out the door.

New from Shepherd's Bush is Reed's Stocking - a little trouble getting the charms, but they should come this week.  Also new from T. Layman (the French Knot Queen) is Bluebirds and Bluebells.  This is another set of stitching accessories.

Two updates on accessories.  Daylight apparently lost the order from Columbus market and so those are finally in.  I had pre-ordered the Gingher Sophia scissors from 2 vendors, finally ordered from a third.  They shipped on Thurs, so should be here on Mon or Tues.

Hope you are all safe and dry, and our prayers are with those who are along the Gulf and their families.  We pray for no more Hurricanes this year.

September 12,  2005 - As I was saying, the Just Cross Stitch Ornament magazine should be here on Monday!  It really has some great designs and some new designers.  It won't last long - so if you want it, let me know!  I always seem to find several designs that I just have to have.  The santa from Artist's Collection always grabs me - especially since they did not do a limited edition Santa this year!

Also in today,  the latest Cricket Collection - www.cecricket.com.  This series is  bunch of acorns in all different sizes and colors.  And while you are checking them out, be sure and look at the Halloween design - 16 men on a dead man's ship!  I love the skeleton fish swimming by the ship.

A customer came in today with her Thankfulness almost finished!  She is stitching on 14 count country grain with wildflowers.  It really looks fabulous and she has really enjoyed stitching with the wildflowers.  Maybe I can get her to leave it in the shop for a few days when she finishes.

Gotta go - check out the new stuff and let me know about the ornament magazine.

September 10, 2005 - I was hoping the old pages would magically appear - just as they magically disappeared!  Oh, well, now I don't have to delete old pages!

Just a reminder that the Just Cross Stitch ornament magazine is scheduled to ship the end of next week,  we will call those who are on the list.  It looks like we will have about 15 extra copies, so let me know if you want to be added to the list!

In case you missed it, we got a new shipment of the little (and a few of the large) needlepoint canvases of love, joy, peace and noel.  They really do make wonderful ornaments or you can put them together in a 4 square holiday pillow.  We have several sets in stock, but they won't last for long.

Also in this week are the collegiate santas and snowmen from Carol Dupree.  We now have a good stock of UT and Univ of Memphis, Ole MIss and of course Bama (for Mallori!)

The Lizzie Kate new designs are selling quickly, be sure and contact us if you want them.  I am sure we will be reordering is these continue to sell like hotcakes.

Finishing deadline is 1 November, so get stitching and get your stocking in tome soon.

September 9, 2005 - I seem to have lost the old pages, guess we will start from here!   I thought I pushed the right button, but...

Now for the third time today - this is not my day!  Yesterday we got the Lizzie Kate automatic!  It is all great - be sure and go to her website to see it all!  www.lizziekate.com.

My favorite is the Pair O Pilgrims.  They are companions to Needle Nick and Flossie Claus, but are in chart form this time.  Fabric and buttons are coming, so you should be able to get these done for Thanksgiving.  The chart includes finishing directions.

Another favorite is the 2005 Santa - he is ice skating, has a checked coat and 2 peppermint buttons from JABCO.  Another favorite is the Tiny Tidings X.  Billie loves the Mistle Toad and I am partial to the Dog - Plaid to meet you.  There is also a cat design.  Also the Oct and Nov Flip Its.

Check out her website.

September 9, 2005 - Since I lost the first posting, I will try this again.  By the third time it gets really short!

Yesterday, we got the new Lizzie Kate automatic!  They are all great designs!  You can look at them on Linda's website - www.lizziekate.com.  There are new flip its, Tiny Tidings X, Family and Friends Boxer etc.  Tiny Tidings has great little holiday designs - Billie's favorite is Mistle Toad and I love the Dog - Plaid to meet you.  There is a cat design for all of the cat people!  There is the 2005 Santa-he is ice skating and has a plaid coat with 2 peppermint buttons from JABCO.

But my favorite is the Pair O Pilgrims.  These are really companions to Needle Nick and FLossie Claus,  but they are in chart from this time, but they still include finishing instructions!  They are really cute,  I ordered fabric and buttons yesterday, so you will be set for Thanksgiving!

Check out her website!

September 3, 2005 - It certainly has been a week in the mid-south!  Hope you and yours are doing well.  Memphis has taken in many from Mississippi and Louisiana.  It certainly is a difficult time for many.  We have friend who has a medical clinic in Marksville, LA and saw over 2000 people last week.  They are overwhelmed.  We sent 3 boxes of assorted supplies this week and will probably send more next week.  They seem to need only the basics right now, but I am sure that list will change.

It seems difficult to talk about needlepoint and cross stitch right now,  but we must carry on while still thinking of and doing what we can for those in need.  One of the charts that comes to mind is from Imaginating called Thankfulness.  It has pumpkins and such with the words - Give Thanks Always.  Truer words were never spoken.  Also from Diane is a chart called Bethlehem.  It is all in one color and features a Nativity.

La D Da has some new charts - her 100th design - Gabrielle Rose.  It is intended as a birth sampler, but would also work very well as a wedding sampler.  If you are having trouble with this concept, you can see the chart on Norden Crafts or Hoffman.  She has lots of great charts!  Another poplar one is Our Daily Bread.  I have order 2-3 times and need to reorder.

Take care in the coming week,  enjoy Labor Day with family and friends and think of those in LA, MS and AL.  Give whatever you can to the relief effort, and count your blessings is you were not directly affected.

August 18, 2005 - Wow another hot week.  I went to the post office this afternoon and my car thermometer said 102 - I believe it.  They are predicting a break next week, but I will believe it when I see it.

Two quick things today - A Hallowed Eve from Plum Pudding Needleart.  3 delightful Halloween ornaments for Punch Needle.  However we are doing them in French knots and Colonial knots.  They are really cute.  I brighten the colors a little - as we often do and plan to put it on a small flange style pillow.  You can check out the pattern at www.hoffmandis.com.

Also a needlepoint order from Julie Marr came in today.  5x5 floral canvases - iris, tulips, and of course poppies.  Also a great scissor case with poppies and a beautiful blue background.  If you are not ready to start on Halloween and don't want to let go of summer, these will make wonderful projects.

August 13, 2005 -Another week - Mallori went to the Florida beaches this week, then she is back for a week and then back to Alabama.  I talked to her yesterday and she has been madly stitching!  Finished a mini sock that we are going to finish as a stand up and a Halloween hat that we are going to combine with the witch coat that she stitched last summer and put them on a wreath with a witches boot that Billie has just about finished!

New stuff this week -(I really should not try to do this from memory on Sat night!) - Some new charts from Tink Boord-Dill, including another alphabet book from Tink.  Just when I think she can't do another alphabet, she comes up with a whole alphabet!

Another canvas from Raymond Chandler - he's  seems to be sending them one at a time - I'm a Desparate Housewife.  It is only 5x5 and would make a great pillow insert or matted and framed!  Fun!

I ordered, and should get on Monday,  the new book from Blackbird Designs.  Trix or Treats.  YOu can see it on www.nordencrafts.com.  Can't wait to see it!  Have you seen the new Workbasket designs and the La D Da have been flying out of the shop - I have reordered Daily Bread twice, and Thanks be to God from Sisters and Best Friends.  This must be the year to stitch "Thanksgiving - Fall" style designs.

Shelly Tribbey sent 3 of the church half rounds.  Mallori stitched it last year and it really is very nice.  We may have to stitch it again for a shop model as Mallori gave hers to her Grandmother.

That is all I can think of and it is time to hit the sack.

August 02-2005 -  Another month down the drain - time to start thinking about holiday finishing!  Most finishing is 1 Nov.  And that means it will be Christmas Eve before you see it.  If you need it before that,  keep that in mind and try to get it finished earlier and let us know if you need it earlier!

Got some new canvases in today.  From The Studio - a NASCAR topper ornament (we also have a racing theme mini sock from KS designs and a mini charm racing theme design from Hinzeit),  and a couple of Halloween pieces and a Dragonfly purse.  It really is a nice design and finishes into a beautiful purse.

From Petei we have the Nativity pieces back in stock and she has added a palm tree - very cute.  Also a new Santa -with a toy train.  You can see them at www.petei.com.

July 27, 2005-I did so well with updates in June and then July came and it all went to heck.  We took a short vacation to New Hampshire and Cape Cod.  We had a wonderful time and enjoyed it all.  I only got to eat lobster twice, but I really enjoyed it!

And now back to work!  We really haven't had a lot of new designs, but will try to remember to include them all!  Lizzie Kate- 2 more stamp flip its!  August and September and a sampler kind of chart - Think Autumn!  Great pumpkin with a crow perched on top!  Linda never ceases to amaze.  Check out the new designs at www.liziekate.com.

The long awaited Prairie Schooler annual santa has arrived!  He is a stitcher this year.  Also a set of 3 leaflets that cover the 12 days of Christmas.  I think I like the 5 golden rings the best!  Also a chart called Folk Art Christmas - 6 little ornaments.  See them all at her website - www.prairieschooler.com.

La-d-da has some new designs - Our Daily Bread, Jasmine's Song and Softly walk.  They can all be seen on www.nordencrafts.com.  Also on the fall - Thanksgiving theme  is Sister's and Best Friends - Thanks be to god - a pumpkin with an alphabet.  Also I reordered the Cedar Hill Thanksgiving piece and Cricket Collection - Be Ye Thankful.

And to continue the oldies and fall theme, Birds of Feather - Fat Cat, Scaredy Cat and Remember me.  There is another but I can't remember it so... you'll have to come in and see them.  These are old ones, but certainly worth another look!

Also in are the new Just Nan designs - a Stocking - Victor's stocking.  The birth of a grandchild always influences a designer!  Also some adorable ornaments and halloween ornaments.  Also available are some little frames for these!

Now to needlepoint - a collection of designs - some great ornaments and a candy and cookie stocking on 14!  Also some great halloween cookies.  From Danji - 2 smaller stockings and a beach scene.  From Canvasworks - a set of the nativity canvases.  These are smaller and 3 to a canvas.

I am afraid I am getting hungry and I don't remember what else we have gotten.  Tomorrow when I get to the shop,  I will ask Mallori and she will tell me what I have missed and what I got wrong!  I'll try to finish up and make the corrections soon!

June 25, 2005 -  The year is almost half gone!  I made a motel reservation for the Nashville market yesterday!  It just keeps going.

A few new things to report.  From Teresa Layman, the french knot designs are here!  Fabulous!  If you need help doing french and colonial knots, we can help and these will cure all your fears.  Sweet Harmony - 3 sewing accessories.  a fob, a scissor case and a needle case.  Bunny Run - a circular piece, only 4 inches in diameter with darling bunnies and carrots.  Wild Salmon, A fish Tale (a mermaid) Outstanding in their field (sheep), Kitty Frolic, and Bees and Trees. Too cute.

From Tristan Brooks,  4 great sets of ornaments.  These can be worked on congress cloth or linen.  Great Designs and Barbara is lending us the models until she goes to the next market!  Come see them!

From A Collection of Designs - a new candy stocking on 13 mesh.  She just started doing them on 13 count.  And as always great ornaments.  More gingerbread men and some Roly-Poly guys - nutcrackers, a penquin, and a moose.  These can all be seen on Janet's website.

A few new canvases from Raymond Chandler - a striking Chinese character canvas.  A star is born, and Momma says, Save your pennies. (Although that saying always came from my father!)

That is all I can think of,  will post more as it comes in!

June 15, 2005 - Well, I survived Columbus market!  It was great - big and exciting and lots of new designs, and of course, I ordered way too much, so prepare your credit cards!

This is an order market, so as things come in I will post them.  Just let me say, get ready to do French knots!  I found some great little designs that are totally French knots!  And in needlepoint, a new designer - she used to design for Seabrook Wallpaper - some great Santas and a fantastic 12 days of Christmas series!  Can't wait for it to get here!

I will post as things come in, so check back frequently.  Mallori mailed the sale cards while I was gone.  Sale starts on Sat.  June 18th and runs for a week.  We have to make room for the new stuff!  If you are out of town or going to be on vacation, you can always call or email and we will take care of you.  We will be open on June 19th from 1-5.  Special hours.

Almost forgot, I saw the new Just Cross Stitch ornament magazine at market - well, just the cover and the stitched models!  This looks like a winner!  Be sure and put your name on the list.  I can't wait for it to get here!  Late August, early September!

May 28, 2005 - Another week gone and Columbus market is getting closer. I suppose I will pack the morning we leave!  It should be a good market and I hope to come back with lots of goodies!

Just in from Mill Hill - 3 NEW perforated paper Santas.  They are so cute and quick to stitch.  They make great ornaments - little hostess gifts for the Holidays!  And just think how smug you will feel to have a bunch stitched and ready for the Holidays!    They are Ice Cap, Polar and Glacier.  Stitching them by the pool this summer will just make you feel cooler.

And 6 Winter Medley designs. These are little bell pulls stithched on 16 count banding fabric.  Very cute!  The titles areSnowy Tree, Startopped Snowman, Winter Wreath, Bearing Gifts, Santa Socks, and Joyful Stars.

And a series of 6 Charmed Mitten Ornaments My favorite is the Santa with a stocking.  Hopefully they will be up on the Mill Hill website soon.  Check it out or just come in.

May 16.2005 - Friday I went to Nashville to see my niece graduate from Vanderbilt.  It was a very nice graduation, a little warm, but we all survived.  And now she is off to Cincinnati!

While I was gone, a few things came in.  From Just Nan, 2 new designs - Robin's Wreath and Morning Flower.  Both are lovely.  Morning Flower is shown finished as a bell pull, but also be nicely framed.  You can see them on her website www.justnan.com.

Also just in from Mill Hill - the Christmas designs.  Yes, it is time to start stitching for Christmas!  New Button and Bead - Tree Shopping, Star Noel, Rooftop Santa (my favorite), Woodland Grace, Winter Chill and Royal Tannenbaum.  Also some really cute bell pull kits - Tree Treasures they are called.  They are stitched on 16 count banding fabric.  They finish up so fast and make really nice little Christmas Happies.

Also from Mill Hill - the Holiday Pins Series XV.  These are so cute and look great as a pin, refrigerator magnet, or ornament.  There are 6 in the series - 2 santas, an angel, 2 snowmen and a christmas tree.

Hopefully Wichelt will get them up on the web soon, but if you can't wait you can call or email for more detailed descriptions.  stitchersinc@bellsouth.net or 901-681-9276.  Time to go!

May 9, 2005 - A few canvases came in today from Leigh Designs.  This is almost the end of what I ordered at the January Market -before I go again in June!  These designs are beautiful flowers.  They are a little abstract - depicting the center of the flower.  There is a great magnolia, a red poppy and a peach tiger lily.  There are a few smaller ones as well.  They are all fantastic and the larger ones are painted on 14 ct canvas.

Speaking of market, if there is anything you want me to look for, let me know.  There is so much to look at, and it always helps to know if someone is looking for something in particular.  Also at this market, they should announce the 2005 Just Cross Stitch Ornament Magazine.  I will be placing an order and then will start taking orders, probably in July.  It is usually released in August or early September.  It is always fun to see whose designs make the front cover, not that it really matters as they are always great little ornaments.

May 6, 2005 - Lizzie Kate automatic came in today.  The 2 newest stamps - June and July.  I really like these.  And a new kit - Long May She Wave.  It is really cute. And a new sampler - Summer.  I would guess that it will be followed by fall, winter and spring.  What do you think?  Check them out on Linda's website - www.lizziekate.com  or just come in and get one of each!

May 5, 2005 - May day has come and gone.  And it was a beautiful day here in the mid-south.  Before summer begins!

A few new designs in this week -  The new Little House Needleworks designs from Dianne.   Rose Sampler - wonderful roses and an alphabet.  Also Daisy Lane Cottage.  A cute little blue house and a picket fence and Home Sweet Home.  She has such nice designs.  From Trilogy, a small chart called Cat Treat.  3 different cats and Meow.  So cute and fun.  From Creative Moments - Easter Stack Banner.  Very cute with a bunny, a chick, and a sheep.  Just a bight little happy.  It says Happy Easter, but you could change that to Happy Spring and leave it up a little longer.  You could also do a little changing and make it a birth sampler.  So cute.

And finally from Prairie Moon - Son of Chickens?  Not really sure how to describe this except to say it is a chicken weather vane and flowers.  It really is cute and kind of grows on you!

You can see all these on the Hoffman web site. www.hoffmandis.com.  Be sure and look at them.

April 28, 2005 - I forgot to mention in yesterday's post that I have a few kits of the old Stitchers Surprize Kits left.  We stopped doing these about 3 years ago and have a few kits left.  I have on of the Spring Watering Can left.  It has 3 flowers with bugs on wires in a little metal water can.  Only one left!  We will feature one all the time and when it goes we will change the feature.  Call or come by to check it out.  These are little kits done on large count fabrics and include chart, fabric, thread and buttons.

April 27, 2005 - I seem to be on a roll here, so I will keep going.  I don't really have anything new to post from yesterday,  although we did get in 2 new canvases from Alice Peterson - poppies and butterflies - a great light canvas in reds and yellows, and a birdhouse with cardinals.  Both are on 14 mesh and would be great fun to stitch.

No new cross stitch, but I thought I would remind you of some older designs that are still great and spring oriented - quick before summer sets in!  From Elizabeth Design's - Green Old Gardens, a  wonderful piece of Elizabeth's in great shades of green and don't forget Nature's Alphabet, make a great gift if you stitch Friends or Welcome.  Or you could stitch the whole alphabet, great piece.  I found some old "semi" kits from the flowers and friends club of a few years back.  I put those on the sale table.  Be sure and check the sale table when you are in,  we even have a section of 10 cent books!!  Also on the sale table are a few of the Charlette's Collectible bunnies, they are on white perforated paper - too cute!

Another favorite for spring is the Spring Sticks from Fanci That.  We made little pillows out of them a great chick and bunny.  We put one on purple fabric and one on yellow fabric.  fun little projects for spring.  From Lizzie Kate we still have a Needle Nana.  A little late for Easter, but still a great spring stand up.

From Mill Hill there are the seed packets designed by Debbie Mumm.  There are four of them in the series.  DMST 1-4.  These are on the Mill Hill site.  Great beaded designs for spring.  Also are the Bent Creek zippers,  there is an adorable bluebird, sheep in the meadow, spring and the seasonal houses.  I think we have all 4 seasons.

If you can't come in to check these out, be sure and give us a call and we will try to describe them and we can always ship to you.

Have a happy May Day, and remember since this is the first Sunday, we will be open from 1-5.  Remember it is not too late to do some of these quick projects for Mother's Day!

April 21, 2005 - A few things came in today.  From Little House Needleworks - 2 new designs.  Peace and Plenty and Plant Kindness.  You can see them on the Norden Crafts site.  www.nordencrafts.com.  They have so many designs, be sure and look around.  Just let me know if you want any of the designs you see.

Also today, we got new Mill Hill.  The new pocket picket - Sunny Day,  Great design with an inch worm and a butterfly.  Also the button and bead kits for the fall, and the pin whimseys.  Lots of pumpkins and black cats.  I just checked the web site and they are not up yet, but should be soon.  www.millhill.com.

Please call or come in if you have any questions about any of these designs.

April 18, 2005 - Well, I made it back from the Dallas Market with lots of needlepoint goodies.  The January market was the fish market and this was the art deco market.  I got several pieces from several different designers.  They are a different look for us.  Not at all whimsical or bright!

And speaking of whimsical, I did manage to find a few things in the Maggie & Co room.  I re-bought the golf mama and the tennis mama and added swimming mama - 3 gals in bikinis!  Too cute for the beach.  Also picked up a few cats - they are a little art decoey - and a little abstract.  One is called bird watching.  Also managed to find a great chicken and red and white.  Also a companion pair of cats and dogs!  You really have to come in and see these!  Also picked up the JOY cats.  4 cats dressed for the holidays holding placards that spell out JOY!  Great piece!

And of course, I managed to spend a chunk of change at Artist's Collection.  I really need to stay away from them!  But I managed to come home with some smaller pieces  - santas, angels, and witches!  Too cute!  And replaced the limited edition santa.  It is a great design and includes a stitch guide.

Got a notice from Lizzie Kate today - she has a new patriotic design/kit coming.  You should be able to see it on her website - www.lizziekate.com.  Linda always has great designs, we should be seeing the May and June stamps pretty soon.

Well, gotta go, but will try to add some more tomorrow.

March 26, 2005 - A few things came in this morning, so I decided to a quick update.

March 20, 2005 - OK, I will try again - 3rd time is a charm.  Hope I don't lose it this time.

I sent the Petei trunk show back.  Thanks to all who came in and looked and to those who ordered by phone.  They are so cute.  I think I gave you the wrong website - it is www.petei.com.  Sorry about that.  You can still look at her website and if there is anything you would like, we can always order.

Alice Peterson order came in - a few more pillow tops and re-stock on a lot of the Stitch n Zips, they do seem to keep selling.

I am going to market in April this is a cash and carry needlepoint, so I will probably come back with all sorts of wild things.  All my favorite Texas designers are there and a few more.  I plan to get some more of the Kathy Schenkel santas - all I have left is the AMerican one with the statue of liberty in the background.  And of course, most of hers come with stitch guides.

Time to get back to work on that pile of cross stitch, will try to add more soon.  Also got some new canvases in.

February 5, 2005 -Survived the trip to Needlepoint Market.  It really was great!  Saw and ordered lots of neat canvases.  Some of the things that have come in so far - and it dribbles in over the next couple of months - are some great pillow tops from Alice Peterson - some fish and some florals and some pansies.  I guess this was a fish market for me as I ordered several fish canvases from several different vendors.

Also in this week - some new cross stitch designs - Cross Eyed Cricket came in - 2 new charts of hearts.  So cute.  They are setting up a website so you can see all the new stuff.  It is not up yet, but should be by the end of the month.

This weekend is the Nashville cash and carry market - so I should be bringing back lots of cross stitch goodies.  Will be putting the stuff on the website after we get it all priced!  Come see it the following week.  It usually takes me a while to get it all priced - but will put it out as I price it.  Come see!

January 16, 2005 - WOW, I guess December really got away from me.  One of my resolutions for 2005 is to post to the website more often.  Hope you all had a wonderful holiday and a Happy New Year.  Not much has been coming in to the shop, this is kind of a slow time for most designers.

I do have some new cross stitch charts on order which should be coming in this week of the next.  We do have the new Lizzie Kate's.  You can see them at www.LizzieKate.com.  This year she is doing the stamp collector flip its.  She explains the rules on her website and the designs are really cute and a quick stitch.  Most of the new cross stitch will come next month.  The cash and carry market in Nashville is Feb 12-13.  There will be lots of new designs and of course lots of old friends.  I will bring back whatever I can cram into the vehicle.

This weekend, I am going to Long Beach for the big needlepoint market!  There will be lots of fabulous designs there - this is an order only market, so whatever I order will come in over the next 6 months.  It will be a lot to see and do in just 2 days!

November 23,  2004 - Got a few new needlerolls from Shepherd's Bush today.  I love to stitch those, and any of the Christmas ones would make a great hostess gift for the holidays.  You could put a ribbon on them and  use them as an ornament.  It is not too early to start on the Thanksgiving roll for next year, this year is a little iffy!  And on that note have a Happy Thanksgiving!  We will be closed on Thursday, but open regular hours on Friday and Saturday.

November 19, 2004 - the end of another week!  Thanksgiving is almost over, followed closely by Christmas.  Guess it is time to start thinking about Christmas shopping!

Signed up for a Petei Santa trunk show today.  It will be here in March.  That should be about right for starting for Christmas  2005.  Petei has the cutest Santa canvases.  And I have several months to figure out where I am going to put the trunk show!

Ordered some new canvases from Artists Collection  and Mile High Princess.  Some from the last order sold way too quickly so I reordered those and ordered some new ones.  All of these canvases were featured in recent issues of Stitchers World.  They are great and some of them have stitch guides.   I will  tell you about them when they come in.

November 14,2004 - guess I need to start doing updates more frequently.  The New Cricket Collection is in.  The twelve days of Christmas!  They are outstanding ornaments and fit on the same tree that she used for the Easter Tree - almost time to get that out again!  I know, I know it isn't even January yet, but it will be before we know it!   Seems like I can't keep up anymore.

New stuff - some scissor cases from Danae Designs - bees, lemon slices, and animal print - great if you have the Cheetah scissors from Gingher - and a magnolia.  From Homespun Elegance, their newest designs are Delivering Harvest (one of the "wagon" series), Wishing Thee Plenty, and the Cinnamon Stick Christmas XIX - Rejoice in Peace.  Number 19!  I am still trying to finish number 7.  Better get on it.  This one is really great, with a lamb!

That is all I can think of for right now.  Probably more later this week.

August 9. 2004 - wow another week almost gone.  We have gotten in some new things, and some stuff that came in that I think I forgot to mention.

From The Oak Tree - some great santa and snowman ornaments.  Mallori has stitched up the  Calico Santa face.  I am sending him off for finishing, but made a color copy of the finished design.  Now I have to get Mallori to detail what she did!  She really enjoyed stitching him.

Can't remember what I have already mentioned and too lazy to scroll thru it all.  If I have already mentioned it then obviously I really like it  and you need to come get it.  First of all, a reminder about the Just Cross Stitch Ornament Magazine,  should be in soon.  Get your name on the list.

July 9, 2004 - The new Cross Eyed Cricket Collection came in today.  4 charts -  Stars and Stripes  - great little star shaped ornaments.  Great for a seasonal wreath - Memorial Day,   Flag Day,  4th of July,  Labor Day or Veterans Day.  Also great for Patriotic collectors.  Haunted Treehouse and Scary Corns - these hang on a tree.  They show them on the same tree they used for the Easter Tree.  My understanding is that there will be more ornaments for that tree.  The tree is available in limited quantities and for a limited time.  If you want one, NOW if the time to act.  The 4th book in this release is - Love is the Reason.  A great anniversary sampler - 25 or 50 or whatever.  It is a very nice sampler in classic Cricket tradition.

Don't forget the Just Cross Stitch Ornament Issue for 2004 will be out soon.  Let us know if you want to be on the list.

July 3, 2004 - Just a quick update.  I ordered some red work designs from a french company - Dessins DHC.  They are fabulous!  And I got what I ordered!  She didn't speak much English and I speak even less French!  One has a mermaid on it - may have to stitch it in a teal blue overdyed.

Hope all you have a happy and safe 4th of July.

June 28, 2004 - I didn't finish telling you about all the good stuff.  See how far I can get today.  First, while at market,   I ordered the 2004 issue of the Just Cross Stitch Ornament magazine.  It should be coming early September.  Let me know if you need this year's issue.  We are starting a list of people to call and will also ship them to you.  Just let me know.

Needlepoint - several new designs.  From Alice Peterson, a cat and a rabbit.  These would also be great beginner pieces as they are just 2 colors and no shading to deal with.

Lee's Needle Arts -  Some more of the 5x7 crosses, a small dragon design with a turquoise background,  a santa stocking, a crane fan.

Just in today from Strictly Christmas, 3 new nutcracker ornaments.  These are really great nutcrackers - they have a really mean look to them.

That's all I can think of for now, but will probably have some more to put up tomorrow.

Lizzie Kate Automatic came the day I left for Market, as did new Artist's Collection hand painted Santa canvases.  The new Lizzie Kates are really cute.  I did not see them at the shop, but did see the stitched models at the market.  Another set of great designs from Linda.  You can see the designs on www.lizziekate.com or come into the shop and see them.  I also reordered Liberty, the stand up of Uncle Sam.

I took a class at market from Pat Thode, from The Artist's Collection.  It is a great Santa ornament cross stitched on red perforated paper using  Rainbow Gallery threads.  I hope to finish it soon, come and see it.

Found some new gadgets, which will trickle in.  New magnets,  new magnet holder,  thread straightener (really great for neon rays).  I will keep you up to date as we go along.  Lots of good things coming.

June 8, 2004 - Needlepoint canvases in today from Susan Treglown.  3 new stockings, a nutcracker, a snowman, and a santa.  I think this is all the stockings I have ordered for this year.  We have a really good selection now, so come and check them out.

More from Mill Hill today, Charmed Stockings.  These are great little stocking ornaments.  First you stitch the stockings, then you stitch the little embellishments.  They look so good.  And all on perforated paper.  4 of them are on brown paper and 2 are on green paper.  Great little hostess gifts.

Also from Mill Hill Winter Birdhouses.  6 seasonal mini bell pulls on pre embroidered edged aida cloth.  And, of course, each design features a birdhouse.  See them at www.millhill.com.

Also from Kathy, 2 Baby samplers with giraffes, in pastels or primary colors.  These also come with stitch guides.   Also I got several mini sock ornaments.  There is a darling panda, a race car, Lion and the Lamb (with a cardinal) and  cardinals at a birdbath.  These are all great.

Also, from Birds of a Feather,  they have several sandal canvases.  These designs come with the wood sole and then you put them together - kind of like a Dr. Scholl's sandal.

Come see all these great new designs.

June 1, 2004 - Another month done - and in June I go to Columbus market.  Moving it back a month, really throws me off track.  But I am ready to go, almost!  If you need anything in particular, let me know.

New kits from Mill Hill today - 3 new Santa ornament kits.  This series is the Mountaineer series - Mt. Mc kinley, Mt. Whitney and Mt. May 26, 2004 - Yikes, another month almost gone.  New Year's Eve will be here before we know it.  Followed closely by the year 2525!  Time flies faster every day.  Not much happening right now.  Market is next month and then there will be lots of new stuff.

This week, we got some new Stitch N Zip kits.  Lots of the new scissor cases. Stitch them, zip them up and you are finished!  No finishing!  We still have a selection of eye glass/cell phone cases and cosmetic and coin purses.  They make great gifts for Christmas.  Time to get going.

Got a few new baby sampler canvases in.  These always seem to go quickly, so stop by soon for the best selection.

If you have been in and have seen the Shelly Tribbey skate model, you know how great it is.  We have some new canvases in.  We have in 2 different Santas and the Let It Snow (the same as our model)  These make great Holiday decorations.

I stitched a model of the newest Mill Hill Santa pin kit.  It is so cute - not sure I can wait until December to wear it.  I love those beaded beards.  They are so easy and look so great.

Come see us for some stitching to take to the beach or other vacation spots.  We were just in Calgary, Canada.  Great place for a summer vacation.  We drove up to Banff in the snow - while it was 88 here.  In July, I will be thinking of that snow, and the elk and the big horn sheep in the park and on the golf course in the town in the park!

May 18, 2004 - Are you ready for Christmas?  It is time to get going!  And Mill Hill is ready to help you get started.  Just in today,  6 new Button and Bead kits.  cardinal Wreath,  Holly Jolly Season ( a really cute Santa)  Winter Whimsey ( a snowman) , Ho Ho Sampler, Peace Angel and Holiday Splendor.   My favorite is still  number 73 - a great Santa that I will finish sooner or later.  Probably later since I started it several years ago.  And the new Holiday Pins.  How do they keep coming up with great new designs?  Curly Ho Ho, Mistletoe Kitty, Christmas Angel, Frosty Presents, Ginger Cookie and Holly Stocking.  You can make these into pins or ornaments,  they also make great teacher gifts.  What teacher doesn't  like a new pin for the holiday season?

We also got the new Monthly Welcome and Picket Fence kits in today.  These are so much fun to stitch and make great seasonal gifts.

And don't forget to check out the new autumn kits.  You can see them at www.millhill.com.

May 14, 2004 - It has been a rainy week, hope it will dry out soon.  They can't fix the leak in the roof until it stops raining.  Course then it is not leaking!  Oh, the joys of home ownership.  Well us and the bank - sure wish the bank would come take care of some of these tasks.

New canvases from  Beau Geste - just got them in today!  Fabulous!  We got the Chinese word canvases back in.  These are Chinese characters on colored canvas, they come with a stitch guide and are quick stitch projects.  An elegant finished product.  Also a few ornaments, a star shaped Santa with a stitch guide, and 2 wonderful pillows - Joy and Noel - in red and white stripe letters.  Stitch it in red and white frosty rays with a white wool background.  Great holiday pillows!

And speaking of elegant pillows, the large love, joy, peace and noel canvases are back  in stock.  Have you seen Mallori's stitched Love model.  Very simple, but very elegant!

The pillow forms for the Homespun Elegance Pineapple Sampler finally arrived this week.  Great, but easy project for pineapple lovers.  Just stitch it and put in a pillow form and you are done!

May 7, 2004 - Some new canvases appeared in the shop today.  From Melissa Shirley, 2 great new Santas.  This year is a Nordic ( very colorful!  great for using lots of little scraps of leftovers) and Magic (very whimsical!)  santas.  They are so great.  Also a pair of chickens with red trim.

From Elizabeth Turner Designs - 2 great belts - one with guitars and one with roses.  The guitar belt has different  colored guitars on a black background and the rose belt has a  Mary Engelbreit feel with pink roses and a black and white background.  Also back  in stock, the pineapple welcome.  We have a model of this canvas,   I only buy it once a year and then it is gone.  I got three canvases in this time.

Remember it is not too late to get that last minute Mother's Day  Gift - a gift certificate from Stitchers.  Tell your family,  they can call me and we can take care of them,  they don't even have to come in!  How painless can it be?

May 5, 2004 - May 5 already!  Where does the time go?  And Mother's Day this weekend - don't forget to tell your family  that we do gift certificates for Mother's Day.

I am trying to get together a group to stitch the My Stitching Chair Necessaire from Hillside Samplings.  It is a minimum order of 10, so I am testing the waters to see if there is any interest.  It is a lovely piece that lays across the arm of your chair to hold your stitching items.  You can look at it on Leslie's website - www.hillsidesamplings.com.  It is under group projects.  If this is successful, we may look at doing the Strawberry project next.  If you have any interest, let me know.

We have some cross stitch charts back in stock.  From Teresa Wentzler, The Twelve Days of Christmas, and from  Workbasket, Thistles, Americana and Landscape.  A new chart from Workbasket is the Quaker Sampler,  it is shown on the cover worked in 4 Sampler threads on a cream linen.  At Nashville Market, they had the model all worked in black.  It would be a great piece in any overdyed.  They also had it worked on the runner from Brunnerhaus, which is already hemmed.

New from Homespun Elegance - we had a little problem with the automatic - but we now have the Sheep Button Sampler, Pineapple Pillow Sampler and Snow Buddies.  Snow Buddies is worked on the Pointed Pillow from Olde Colonial.  You can see these on Sandra's website - www.HomespunElegancew.com.

And now to needlepoint,  from Strictly Christmas,  we have 3 stocking cuffs.  These are great, especially if you don't want to stitch an entire stocking.  There is one with a snowman and  trees and candy canes and a red and white checked wavy border.  Also a smaller one with garland and nutcrackers and a musical instruments cuff.  The border on this one looks like piano keys.  Great design.  Also 2 new nutcrackers from Karen - a blue one and a red one with a cape and a drum.  He has a real "nutcracker" face.

Hope you can get in to see these soon - it is time to start stitching for the Holidays.  And if you are interested in the Hillside Samplings project, let me know.

April 26, 2004 - A few new things in today.  From Bent Creek, the next Holiday snapper - Happy Arbor Day  and another of the street series.  (I am having trouble with the computer at the shop, so I am doing this from home and my memory is a little faulty)  I think it is Summer.  It is really cute and I liked the design.

On the needlepoint front,  a great canvas from Amanda Lawford,  Joyeaux (I think!) Noel.  It is in  great colors.  Also from Petei,  the classic frog carrying Santa.  It really is cute with a frog carrying a Santa in a cart.  It is great for all the frog lovers.

April 25, 2004 - April is almost gone and that means that the first Sunday of the month is fast approaching.  Next Sunday is May 2 and I will be there from 1-5.  Come see me.  Hopefully the rain will have ended and we will have a beautiful day.  See you then.

April 22, 2004 - The order from Carol Dupree came in today.  Collegiate Snowmen and Santas - they are so cute.  We have the UT snowman stitched as a model in the shop.  The Santas are new - UT, BAMA, Ole Miss.  Also a snowman ornament and 2 santa face ornaments.

I added our name to the list of shops at www.catscradleneedleworks.com.   We have not had a lot of things from her, but I liked what I saw and intend to order at Columbus market if not sooner.  Check it out and see if there is anything you like.  I would be happy to order from her for you.

That's it for today.

April 21, 2004 - Hope it is nice and sunny at your house today.  It has rained here off and on all day.  I planted some flowers on Sunday afternoon and they needed a nice slow soak.

Lots came in this week - Mill Hill.  Are you ready to start your fall and Halloween stitching?  They are!  I am still working on Christmas!  6 new button and bead kits - my favorites are Midnight Magic, Mr Gobble, and Knock Knock ( reminds me of all those Knock Knock jokes)  and 6 Autumn Harvest Pins - Turkey Feathers , Broom Ride are my favorites.  Also the new picket fence designs.  You can see all these (and the ones I can't remember) at www.millhill.com.

On the needlepoint front - from Designing Women  a very nice bellpull with Christian symbols.  It is worked mostly in gold and is painted on 14 count canvas.  It would make a very nice gift for a special person.

From Shelly Tribbey - I think this is the end of my market order.  We got two new large skate canvases.  These are fabulous designs - one is of nutcrackers and one Santa faces.  They finish into skates - they look like you could put it one on and go skating.  Start now and you could be ready for the ice next winter.  Also from Shelly, a great little spring piece.  It has some little brown bunnies and spring flowers.  Also the last of the new mini skates - a little polar bear.  Very cute.

And from Rebecca Wood - A great Woodland Snowman stocking, and some little snowman ornaments - I really like the one with a black top hat and the cutest plaid muffler.  Also ordered 3 little toy soldier ornaments - red, green and  blue.  But then I love all of her designs.

Have you been in to see the new Daylight Lamp?  We sold out and have restocked.  It is a great floor lamp on castors - so it is easy to move around  - It is a great lamp and a great price.  Come try it out.

April 16,  2004 -  Wow, another week gone by.  There have several new things this week.  New from Little House Needlework - Plant Your Seeds and City Stitcher - Country Stitcher.  I really like the Plant Your Seeds and Billie likes City Stitcher.  Be sure and stop by and see Barbara's stitched Two Red Houses.  You can see these charts on both Hoffman and Norden.

Are you stitching the new Lizzie Kate Flip-it Blocks?  The June and the  July versions were released this week.  Also Summer Basket, Summer Cottage Boxer, and Hooray for the USA complete with a sterling silver flag charm.  And speaking of flip its,  we have stitched the 4th of July Flip it and have it in out "Lizzie Kate" frame.  You can stitch all the Holiday Flip its, and change them out seasonally.  The frame has a hook for keys or whatever.

Also,  from Lizzie Kate,  she will be releasing a new kit this spring, it is called Liberty Sam.  It continues in the tradition of Needle Nick and Needle Nana.  Let me know if you need me to reserve one for you.

We have collected several teacher and graduation charts.  Putting them together as we  find them in the shop.  The end of the school year is fast approaching, now is the time to start.

Pine Mountain - "My Mother - My  friend", a new kit from Pine Mountain in the tie on series.  And just in time for Mother's Day.

On the needlepoint front, from Susan Roberts a black cat with  red and white checks.  It is a great canvas, and the cat is very regal looking.   Also from Canvas Connection, several baby birth samplers.  It seems like I bought birth samplers from every vendor at market, yet we never seem to have enough.

Did you get a Tacky Bob?  If not you need one!  I placed an order and should have 40 more coming our way on Monday.  It is the best thing since sliced bread - and why didn't I think of it???

April 10,2004 - Well, another week is coming to a close.  Where does the time go?  I need to tell local customers ( and those coming for a visit) that the Memphis Jewish Community Center is having an exhibit of Netty Vanderpol's work.  Ms Vanderpol is a Holocaust survivor and fiber artist.  Her exhibit is at the center from April 4 - 25.  It is well worth the time to go see.  Ms Vanderpol will be here on Sunday April 18 and will speak about her art at 2:00.

The Community Center sent me some information about her and I am sure her talk will be very interesting.  Be sure and go see this exhibit.

More new things this week on the needlepoint front.  From Associated Talents, some cute baby samplers, and in the Christmas plaid series we got in Merry Christmas, Joy, Santa's Watching and all I want for Christmas is a hole in one.

Re-ordered from Drawn Thread, so we have Tocatta 1 and 2 back in stock, along with most of the silks called for in these charts.  Great designs.

Alice Peterson - a nice supply of Stitch and Zips and some great new canvases. I re-ordered the ladybug pillow top from Alice Peterson.  It is a great, bright pillow top.  Perfect for a Florida room or a sunporch.  Also a brilliant poppy on a black and white check background.  2 adorable baby samplers.  They show a baby bed with stuffed animals - there is a boy and girl version.  And a horizontal piece with large hearts - great for a teenager's room.

Also this week, more little flip flop ornaments from Shelly Tribbey Designs.  I think we have a black cat design, a watermelon, and a palm tree.  These are fun little ornaments with finishing kits included.

I think that does it for this week, I will try to keep you posted as new stuff comes in this next week.

April 2, 2004 - Well, I made it back from the Dallas market.  It was great, and I brought back many canvases.  I also brought a new gadget.  It is called a Tacky Bob.  It is a case with tacky insides and holds beads like you won't believe.  You can even drop it and the beads stay in place.  If you bead, you need this!

Also, a frog repelling scissor fob.  The scoop on this fob is that if you use this fob, you will never have to do the frog stitch - well almost never!  It has a series of green and silver beads and a silver frog charm.  I am sure it will repell the frog stitch.

And also we now have ort bags, these are little scrap bags.  Great for travel!  So small, so cute, and so useful.

New from Bent Creek - a new Zipper, Puppy dog row and the Easter Holiday snapper.  Great designs as usual from Bent Creek.

Now a few words about all the canvases I brought back from Dallas.  Lots of ornaments from A Collection of  Designs, Painted Pony and Strictly Christmas.  Some great florals from Bettiray Designs.  Whimsical  designs - cats, frogs and animals - from Patti Mann Designs.  You need to come in and see ALL the new things.  They won't last long!

March 24, 2004 - New from Mill Hill this week.  The May seasonal welcome - part of a series, but can be stitched  and hung alone.  There is a frame that works for each of these, just pop it out of the frame and change for the seasons.  Also the May Nesting kit for the picket fence.  This is a great design with birdhouses.  You can see these and lots of other designs at www.millhill.com.

Have you seen the Empress Thread cutter from Charland?  This is a small, delicate silver cutter, great for airline travel and a great thread cutter for at home stitching.  It is very pretty and very useful.  This really looks like a nice piece of jewelry rather than a utilitarian cutter.

Drawn Thread has released new designs.  You can see them at www.drawnthread.com.  There is a new Tocatta, you can see Barbara's stitched Tocatta I in the shop.  It is beautiful and Barbara did a great job of stitching it.  The new designs are in the mail (technically I think it is Fed Ex) but anyway they are on their way.  I have ordered the Needlepoint Inc. silks for these pieces, so with any luck the charts and the threads will be here at the same time!    There are 2 other new designs, Love and Wisdom, and a Chatelaine.  All three are great designs in the Drawn Thread style and well worth the wait.  They should be in the shop this week, or the beginning of next week.

Barbara, the mad (and quick) stitcher, has also finished 2 Little House Needleworks designs.  They are both at the framers and should be back soon.  She stitched 2 Red Houses, I love the black and white check design across the bottom.  She also stitched "Sweet Little Berries".  This design is a promo design from Crescent Colors and Little House Needleworks.  The chart is available with the purchase of the threads.  I will let you know when it is back from the framers.

Also in this week,  Santa ornaments from Petei.  These are great designs and can be seen on Petei's website - It is www.petei.com.  Great ornaments.  There is a great Santa on a polar bear, and one on a wild hare, and a canoe .  Billie's favorite (which is back-ordered) is a frog cart with a Santa.  You have to see it to understand.  My favorite (actually 2) are the flying Santa and Santa on the polar bear.  They both have flowing beards and hats.

I am going to Dallas Market this weekend.  This is a cash and carry market, so I will be putting new canvases out on Tuesday!  I am looking forward to lots of good things.

Mallori will be home for Spring Break, and will be in the shop on Sat and Mon and then Wed and Thur.  She will probably take a few days off for Spring Break.  I already have some Turkey Work for her to cut while she is here.  Come and see the new stuff!
